What is digital citizenship?

Digital citizenship is a term that helps educators, and parents discuss what everyone should know about appropriate technology use.

We often see or hear about the misuse and abuse of technology. Every technology user regardless of age needs to be aware of what is appropriate and what is not appropriate use of technology.

As citizens in a community are expected to act responsibly and appropriately, digital citizens have the same expectations.

Digital citizenship is more appropriately viewed as participation in the global digital community via responsible and appropriate use of technology to become a productive, contributing member of that community.
