Privacy Policy — BractAI
Effective: 30 August 2026

BractAI is a private field log. It estimates names for plants, insects, and fungi from a photo you choose, then saves a sighting on this device.
1. What we collect
• Photos you take or pick for a scan. A photo is personal data.
• Optional note on a sighting (you type it).
• Optional place on a sighting, only if you turn location on. Denied location still saves the sighting.
• On-device log: dates, estimates, your note, your photos.
• Purchase status from Apple or Google (whether a trial or subscription is active). We do not see your full card number.
• If you tap Report or Support: the category, optional note, and enough context to understand the report (candidate names on that result). We do not need a second copy of the photo unless you attach one.
2. What we do not collect (v1)
• No account. No email unless you write to Support.
• No advertising ID. No tracking across apps. No sale of data.
• No analytics SDK in v1.
• No contacts, microphone, or background location.
3. Third-party AI (Apple 5.1.2(i))
If you tap Continue on “Photos go out for ID”, the scan photo is sent to OpenAI so it can return up to three name estimates.
The photo is used only to produce that estimate. It is not added to a training set.
No scan runs without that Continue. Not now leaves Scan locked for ID.
Location and notes are not sent to OpenAI.
4. Where the log lives
Sightings stay on this device. Deleting a sighting deletes that record and its photos on the device. Uninstalling the app deletes the local log.
5. Payments
Apple App Store and Google Play process payments. Their privacy policies apply to the card and invoice.
6. Children
BractAI is not directed at children under 13 and is not in the Kids category.
7. Your choices
• Not now / later Continue: ID off until you agree.
• System Settings: camera, photos, location, notifications.
• Delete a sighting or uninstall to remove local data.
• Email bract@upigai.com to ask what we hold from a Report or Support message.
8. Changes
We will update this page if collection changes. A new third-party AI provider requires a new in-app consent before the next scan.
