Orientation
In the first week, my friend Saila and I were invited to get acquainted with the principal, and then the teachers where I would be teaching. Then I also got to know the students from grade 7 to grade 12. Not only that, we were taken around the large area of CLSU, riding in a car accompanied by Sir John Paul and Local Intersership Patricia.
During our orientation, we visited CLSU's book printing center, The ICCEM Museum, the Living Fish Museum, USHS's sister school Agriculture Science Technology School, and The Carabao Center, and were also introduced to CLSU's buildings such as the mushroom research building, flora and fauna research building, campus library, etc.
Observations
In the second week, I did the observation, I saw how the teachers here were teaching the material to the students, they did their best so that students could understand the lesson well and the teachers really optimized the time during the learning activities.
*I didn't have picture when I observed the class, because my phone was broken at that time.
Create a lesson Plan
After the class observation, I made a lesson plan with a sample lesson plan that is commonly used here. Also, do not forget to give it to the cooperative teacher so that it can be checked and corrected. You can access my lesson plan, please scan the barcode bellow.
Practice teaching
When I first taught in class, I was very nervous because this was my first experience teaching at Senior High School, especially grade 12. This is a challenge for me because teaching teenagers for me is not easy, therefore in addition to fun learning, we also have to be friends so that they can be comfortable when we teach in class.
Teaching Assistantship
In teaching assistantships I assisted during the first quarter exam, because there were many activities held at the school during my internship, so I mostly participated in school activities such as teacher's day celebrations, assessment seminars for teachers, RIDe Fest (Research Innovation & Development Festival), and Intramurals, Ced Talks: Making glutinous tape water, making kimchi, making fermented fish and making simple desserts.
Final Demonstration Teaching
On October 19, 2023, I completed my demo teaching practice by being assessed by 2 supervisors, Ma'am Laileen and Sir Lexter, who are lecturers at the College of education. Afterward, I received feedback in the form of evaluation and reflection on everything I prepared when teaching. And thank God, I got good feedback and also suggestions to improve my teaching in the future.

Teaching Assintanship
FInal Demostration
In 60 minutes of lesson time, I divided it into 2 parts:
45 minutes for routine class generalization
15 minutes for evaluation and assignment.
For teaching, students are more active in class such as answering questions or re-explaining the material in front of the class. Also when watching the video together I asked students to summarize what they understood from the video.
For the seating arrangements during the lesson, they lined up as shown in the picture. However, during the final teaching demonstration, I changed the class arrangement into a U-shape (last picture) to make it easier for me to pay attention to the students and I can control the class well.
For the project, Mitotic Wheel Project, I grouped students into groups of 2 students for one the mitotic wheel, because I thought this mitotic wheel would make it easier for students to memorize mitosis quickly.
I faced some problems when I practiced teaching in the classroom:
My voice when teaching was not high enough, so some students did not understand what I was saying.
I did not go around the class.
I as a teacher in the classroom explained too much, students should talk more and the teacher should only be a facilitator.
When watching videos I don't ask students about the content of the video, I only ask one student.
When I drew pictures in front of the class, my pictures were too small so that students sitting at the back could not see clearly what I drew and explained in front.
To summarize the material that has been learned, I ask students to read what they have written while for grade 12 this method is not appropriate.
Then, my Cooperative teacher, Ma'am Assoc. Prof. Evelyn M. Ben gave me advice to improve my teaching practice, as follows:
Louder voice so that all students can hear the material clearly.
Walking around while teaching
During the opening, give students an event in everyday life that is related to the material to be conveyed.
After playing the video, ask some students about their understanding of what they have watched.
If you want to draw on the whiteboard, draw it bigger and clearer, so that students sitting at the back can see well.
When summarizing the material that has been taught, students must summarize it using their own language/understanding
When summarizing the material that has been taught, students must summarize it using their own language.
After going through the teaching practice before the final demonstration teaching. I improved everything from lesson plans, and media to teaching techniques that I will use. And at the time of the final demonstration I got good feedback from my 2 supervisors, with notes:
Create lesson objectives as specific as possible. Short and to the point.
Because during the final demonstration, I enjoyed teaching and did not pay attention to the time, so at the time of generalization / summarizing the learning that I should have asked students to summarize using their own words, but instead I summarized and mentioned the conclusions together with the students.
