Welcome to the Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island! Congratulations on being chosen for our B.Ed. program! Teaching is indeed a very noble profession! The quality and richness of the UPEI Bachelor of Education programs are second to none. Our classes are led by outstanding and dedicated educators. We are also very proud of the practicum experiences we provide for our students. We offer a wide range of practicum possibilities in English and French K-12 schools on PEI and beyond. We also hope you might consider a special focus for your second practicum, which includes teaching within an Indigenous community or in another country. Over the last few years, we had students doing their second practicum in Argentina, Belgium, Kenya, Malta and New Zealand. You will be happy and relieved to know that our graduates have considerable success securing employment in their hometowns, across Canada, and around the world. I look forward to meeting you in May as you begin your year-long journey to become a teacher.
