A warm welcome to our Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering Student Design Expo website!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our many design clinic partners and design award sponsors for joining us in providing a range of real-world engineering challenges for our students. 

UPEI’s unique hands-on, problem solving approach to engineering education not only develops our students’ design skills but also cultivates their abilities to interact with our design clinic partners in a professional workplace setting — invaluable experience that will serve them well as they transition into their engineering careers.

The design expo showcases our students’ accomplishments in engineering design, their work with and for our design clinic partners, and their hard work as aspiring engineers. As you explore the many highly collaborative – and frequently trans-disciplinary projects, you will see the progression in skills over the four years of the program, and the increasing technical difficulty of the projects they take on.

This day is a celebration of our students and partners. It also marks the culmination of this year’s work for the team of faculty and staff in the FSDE who work year-round to support our students’ success. In this moment, it is important to acknowledge the skill and dedication they bring to building a transformative learning environment for our students.
