Celebrating a Career Achievement: Jessica Lane-Rwabukwisi was honored by SUNY this spring. She shared her joy with us:
“This Spring I had the honor and privilege of being selected for the 2022 Award for Individual Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) by the SUNY Career Development Organization. The Award is given to a career services professional who has made significant contributions or initiatives to promote DEI and ensure impactful service to students and incorporate an inclusive and intersectional lens to the field. My supportive and synergistic team nominated me for this award, and I could not be more grateful and proud to work with such amazing colleagues at Binghamton University’s Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development.
“This work is always done in partnership and in solidarity with others. Thank you to my mentors, teachers, and colleagues for sharing their stories, wisdom, and ‘gracious space’ to reflect, grow, and create more inclusive environments. I am indebted to Dr. Marguerite Wilson and Mr. Lawrence Parham, may he rest in power, for the impact they have made on my life and all of us at the Fleishman Center.”
