"End Of Beginning" by Djo (Cover)
"End Of Beginning" by Djo (Cover)
This project is a collaborative cover of āEnd of Beginningā by Djo, and will be produced with my family and presented as part of my project for MMS 172.Ā
Although my primary focus has been in arts and design, this project marks a meaningful step as I return to music, something Iāve always loved but never pursued seriously until now.
In the past, Iāve tried piano and guitar, but I found myself most naturally drawn to the drums, which Iāve played casually for a while now. This will be my first time recording a full song using professional studio equipment, making it my first clean, high-quality music production.
For this project, Iāll be playing drums, while my sister and I will share vocals, with her possibly also contributing guitar. My dad will support with guitar or bass, and will help me with the recording and production process using our home studio setup.
The cover will blend recorded performance and creative collaboration, capturing both the nostalgic feel of the original and our own artistic interpretation. More than just a song cover, it represents a personal milestone, bridging my background in design with a renewed passion for music.

Even though Iāve been surrounded by music growing up, and Iāve casually played the drums for a while, Iāve always focused more on art and design. Music was always something in the background, something fun, but not something I saw myself pursuing actively. Until now, thanks to MMS 172.
What makes this special is that Iām finally combining my love for sound with the discipline and creative energy Iāve built through my art background. Itāll be my first time recording a full song, so everything from mic setups to mixing will be a learning experience. Thankfully, Iāll be doing it with my family, who not only understand music but have always supported my creative exploration.
I know there will be challenges... getting used to the technical setup, figuring out our harmonies, and even just feeling confident stepping back into something I haven't done in a while, but Iām excited. This project is a starting point. Itās not about perfection for me, but itās about rediscovering music, making something meaningful together, and seeing where it could lead!
I havenāt started yet, but I already know this will be one of those projects Iāll look back on as the moment I reconnected with music, not just as a listener, but as a creator.
