The University of the Philippines Los Baños Museum of Natural History houses a diverse collection of preserved biological, zoological specimens and thousands of living plants and trees. A multi-colored diorama of Philippine flora and fauna and video presentations on biodiversity are special museum features. Exhibits feature, among others, the Philippine eagle, tamaraw, tarsier; snails in Mt. Makiling and Laguna de Bay; Philippine plants, forests, shells; Philippine cobras, marine turtles and mammals; and a Philippine map made of 4,012 locusts and lahar from Mt. Pinatubo, according to the museum’s website.
A trip to the museum helps everyone in learning and appreciating the remarkable and exotic beauty of the various kinds of flora and fauna. The museum is a good place to conduct an educational field trip because the things exhibited in here are oftentimes not seen in other museums and in zoos.
