The UP Ginhawa Clinical Psychology Research Lab is the research laboratory of the Clinical Psychology Program of the Department of Psychology, University of the Philippines Diliman. The Lab is dedicated to practice-informed and advocacy-oriented scholarship that advances culturally grounded, empirically rigorous, and socially responsive mental health and well-being research. Its work integrates research, clinical service delivery, professional training and supervision, community and public engagement, and mental health advocacy.
The Lab’s research agenda includes the development, implementation, and evaluation of culturally grounded and evidence-based interventions and assessment tools; psychological well-being and ginhawa research; psychotherapy process and outcome research; transdiagnostic approaches to assessment and intervention; addiction prevention and recovery; community mental health, university mental health systems and policies, disaster management, and digital mental health; and Sikolohiyang Pilipinong Pang-Klinika. It also advances scholarship and practice in relation to vulnerable and underserved populations, including children and adolescents, LGBTQIA+ communities, neurodivergent individuals, and other groups requiring affirming and context-sensitive mental health care.
Across its programs, the Lab maintains a sustained commitment to equity, inclusion, ethical clinical practice, public mental health policy, culturally responsive clinical assessment, and the strengthening of clinical supervision and training in the Philippine context.
