Synopsis
This panel discussed the state of history education in the age of digital media. The first speaker, Asst. Prof. Francisco Jayme Paolo A. Guiang tackled the nature of online historical distortions and some effective strategies in order to engage in the fight against the deluge of online disinformation. The second speaker, Asst. Prof. Dondy Pepito G. Ramos II discussed the history curriculum of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) vis-a-vis various “Readings in Philippine History” textbooks used at the college level and how they deal with the topic of Martial law. The last speaker, Mr. Lorenzo Jose C. Martinez discussed various online repositories about the Martial Law period and explained how these materials can be useful in history education.
