Let's make a deal. I’ll give you everything I’ve got to help you learn all you can about Psych 105 while having fun along the way. On your part, do your best to read, write, listen, and discuss what he have at hand. Let's go!
Following University Regulations, you’re allowed a maximum of 6 absences. If you go above this limit, you have to drop from the course or otherwise get a grade of 5.00. No make-up quizzes and in-class activities (i.e., tasks assigned and submitted in the same session) will be given (i.e., graded with a score of zero). Projects missed due to absences will be considered late and will incur deductions.
If you miss a checkpoint due to an excusable reason (e.g., sickness, as supported by a medical certificate), you need to take a make-up exam within a week of your original date of absence. Further missed checkpoints will warrant a score of zero.
If you wish to consult in person on class-related matters, you may set an appointment through e-mail so we can work out our schedules (do so at least a day before your desired schedule). However, you may ask questions if we have enough time when you see me around the Department. You may also email your questions, and I’ll reply the soonest I am able.
Always cite your sources (in APA style), especially when quoting material or referencing ideas that are not yours.
Cheating (especially plagiarism) includes copying the works of other students (whether past or present) to complete any of your exams or projects. Punishments range from getting a score of zero on a plagiarized or copied requirement, to incurring a failing final grade.
Uphold honor and excellence: Citing your sources and thinking innovatively allow you to continue in the tradition of people who did great research before you, and contribute to what knowledge has been developed in the field.
Avoid using your phone in class; turn it off or put it in silent mode. If you must attend to an urgent message, discreetly exit the classroom to avoid distracting others. The same goes for when you need to use the restroom.
Above all, focus on the task at hand: Don’t do your requirements for your other subjects during our class time.
Our class is an opportunity for you to discuss your learnings, confusions, or experiences about the day’s topic. Feel free to raise your questions and points of interest.
Thus, it is expected that you come to class prepared (i.e., through your readings and assignments) and ready to participate in class discussions.
