We're back to face-to-face classes! Make sure to follow the following guidelines:

01 UPD F2F Guidelines

02 UPD Guidelines for F2F Extracurricular Student Activities

03 UPD F2F Academic Field Activity Guidelines

Hoping for your SIKcess!

  1. Pick your classes wisely.

  • Consult your seniors and check reviews by other students.

  • Before the semester starts, maximize the time allotted for the pre-advising period to consult your advisers regarding the courses that you will be taking.

  • Consider if the workload will be too stressful for you.

  1. Take advantage of the syllabus or course guide.

    • Use it to plan ahead and take note of the study materials mentioned for your perusal.

    • Stick to the timetable to avoid cramming as dates of submission in colleges are strict.

  2. Develop a good study habit.

    • Figure out what learning style is most effective for you.

    • Make study routines and do not rely on sudden bursts of motivation to study.

    • Form study groups and arrange schedules for self-study as well.

  3. Always participate in class.

    • Engage yourself with class discussions and don’t be afraid to share your opinions and insights.

    • Make other students think that each space is a safe space for everyone.

    • Don’t hesitate to ask your professor if there are lessons or concepts that you find difficult to understand.

  4. Do not hesitate to ask your seniors for tips and advice to get through your first stay in UP.

  5. Meet new people!

    • Having a "buddy" from the same block or with similar schedules will be a great help for your first stay in UP.

    • Build a strong support system that pushes you to grow and improve and vice versa.

  6. Join orgs that interest you.

    • This is where you meet people outside of your course who share the same interests as you.

    • Note: Only consider applying if you are sure that you can juggle the different tasks you have to do.

  7. Learn when to rest.

    • Listen to your mind and body. If you are tired, do not hesitate to rest and unwind however you see fit.

    • Discover *healthy* coping mechanisms to help yourself de-stress.

  8. Prioritize your personal and academic life

    • Make sure that you balance your time properly and prioritize what needs to be done first.

  9. Don’t pressure yourself too much, take time to breathe, relax, and enjoy because college life will bring you so many surprises.
