Before requesting for laboratory services, please download and review the MCCL Service Brochure and MCCL Service Fees. Please also check our Service Timelines to determine lead time/s for the entire Service process.

Steps for Requesting Laboratory Services
Secure the following documents (as scanned JPEG image or PDF file):
For all research students/project staff:
Endorsement Letter signed by your research adviser/supervisor. The letter must contain the names of all persons involved in the research study, the name of your school/university/company, your contact information, and a brief description of the study (3-5 sentences).
Signed MCCL Terms and Conditions.
For clients with faculty/supervisory position:
Cover Letter signed by you. The letter must contain the name of your school/university/company, your contact information, and a brief description of the study (3-5 sentences).
Signed MCCL Terms and Conditions.
For UP-enrolled students: UP Form 5 validated for the current semester.
Determine your Sample Type based on the examples below:
Determine the Classification of Service Request based on your Sample Type.
Recommended concentration only. If concentration cannot be adjusted (e.g., sample is a commercially procured reagent/drug), please e-mail us with the subject "SAMPLE TYPE INQUIRY (Surname)."
If your diluent is not DMSO/water/pure ethanol, you must submit 1-5mL of your diluent in addition to your diluted sample. This will serve as negative control for the assays.
Fill-up the appropriate MCCL Online Service Form based on your Classification of Service Request. Upload the necessary documents from Step 1.
IMPORTANT : Upon filling up the Service Form, it is assumed that:
Your samples are ready for submission. Do NOT fill up the Service Form if you are unsure of your timeline for sample preparation and/or if you are not yet sure if you want to avail our services.
You have reviewed our Service Brochure, Service Fees, and Service Timelines. Upon Submission of your Service Form, it is assumed you have reviewed these documents and have no further inquiries about the details discussed in these documents.
Online Service Form 1.4 - Class IV Requests are NOT AVAILABLE.
To revise the form or cancel your request, please e-mail us with the subject "FORM 1 REVISION (Surname) or "FORM 1 CANCELLATION (Surname)"
Please wait for an e-mail from MCCL confirming acceptance of your Service Request and your target sample submission date.
Pack your samples according to the recommended packaging instructions detailed in the MCCL Service Brochure. Use the MCCL Sample Label Template to properly label your samples.
Have your samples delivered to the Mammalian Cell Culture Laboratory, Institute of Biology, Ma. Regidor St., University of the Philippines Diliman 1101 Quezon City. Recipient details will be provided via e-mail.
Please wait for an e-mail from MCCL confirming receipt and acceptance of your submitted samples.
For Class I and II Requests, samples will be processed for drying based on the Service Timeline provided for your batch. Please wait for the Final Report for Sample Drying (MCCL Form 4G) and Statement of Account.
For Class III and IV Requests, a Statement of Account will be issued to you based on the Service Timeline provided for your batch.
Pay for the full amount indicated in the Statement of Account. Follow the Instructions for Payment included in your Statement of Account.
Secure a screen capture or scanned copy of your Proof of Payment.
Send BOTH the Proof of Payment and Statement of Account to the same e-mail thread for your initial request. IMPORTANT: Please cc the UPD Cash Office (cc: cashoffice.upd@up.edu.ph).
Please wait for e-mail confirmation from the UPD Cash Office and MCCL.
For Class I Requests, you may schedule pick-up of your samples via e-mail based on the Service Timeline provided for your batch.
For Class II, Class III and Class IV Requests, please wait for the Final Report/s for your requested assay/s based on the Service Timeline provided for your batch.
