Fireside Chat: “From Policy to Practice: Strengthening Technology Transfer, Regulatory Support, and Market Access for Agri-Food Innovations”

This discussion brings together stakeholders from government, academia, LGUs, and the private sector to explore how policies and support systems can help move agri-food innovations into practice. 

The session covers existing collaboration models among national agencies, LGUs, SUCs, and industry; identifies 2–3 innovations or programs with potential for replication across regions; and discusses practical enablers such as financing, extension services, regulatory support, and capacity building.

Agrinnovation QuizCon 2026: A National Quiz Contest on Agricultural Innovation, Climate Resilience, and Inclusive Agri-Food Systems

Agrinnovation QuizCon 2026 is a national quiz contest on agricultural science, biotechnology, innovation, climate resilience, and inclusive agri-food systems. 

Organized by the Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) with the UP League of Agricultural Biotechnology Students (UP LABS), the competition showcases student knowledge and promotes science-driven solutions to Philippine agriculture. It also encourages academic excellence, collaboration, and interest in agricultural innovation.

Makabagong AgriTek: Tuklasin, Subukan, Gamitin

Ang Makabagong AgriTek: Tuklasin, Subukan, Gamitin ay isang interaktibong program na naglalayong dalhin ang makabagong teknolohiya sa agrikultura mula sa laboratoryo patungo sa aktuwal na bukirin. 

Sa pamamagitan ng mga live na demonstrasyon, magkakaroon ang mga magsasaka, mga Local Government Units (LGUs), at mga agricultural extension worker ng pagkakataong direktang maranasan ang paggamit ng mga drone para sa precision mapping, mga Internet of Things (IoT) sensor para sa pagsubaybay sa lupa at panahon, at remote sensing analytics upang makagawa ng mas mahusay at batay sa datos na mga desisyon sa pagsasaka.

A structured pitching session where selected agrinnovators, including university researchers or representatives, startups, spin-offs, and MSMEs, present validated solutions to investors, industry partners, and ecosystem enablers. 

The session showcases promising agritechnologies, creates opportunities for partnerships, and provides business and technical feedback to help innovators move their solutions toward adoption and commercialization.

NextGen Agri Hackathon: Solving Tomorrow’s Agri-Food Challenges Today

The NextGen Agri Hackathon engages interdisciplinary student teams in developing solutions to pressing agri-food system challenges. 

Before the event, teams join a situationer that introduces current sector realities and priority gaps, followed by a rapid prototyping and pitch development session. 

During the hackathon, teams build and refine their solutions under time constraints and present them to a panel of judges. 

Top outputs receive awards and may be considered for incubation or further development.
