Conference Theme: Indigenous Peoples and the Sustainable Development Goals

Adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a follow-up to the Millennium Development Goals, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have since become a global agenda. In keeping with the goals' aim to "Leave No One Behind," this conference seeks to examine the location of indigenous peoples in this international framework.

Conference Objectives

  • To support UP Baguio’s institutional building and greater visibility at the local, national and international academia and in governance for sustainable development

  • To promote Cordillera Studies and Indigenous Studies through research dissemination that critically informs policies and development programs affecting communities in the Cordillera Region and other indigenous communities in the Philippines and elsewhere.

  • To expand UP Baguio’s research collaboration, dissemination and productivity through an international and multi-sectoral convergence for collegial exchange.
