This news article written by Raymond Alikpala delved into his experiences of being a Catholic gay man.  Here, he talked about his motivations for staying in the Church such as feeling a “personal connection with a loving God” and the Church being important because it “underscores this sense of community”.

The Guidon, the official student newspaper of Ateneo de Manila Univeristy, chronicles the life of M. Dofitas, a non-binary and aromantic individual. The article also narrated how they grew up in a devoutly Catholic household and how they experienced pressure, emotional, and verbal abuse from religious believers for not conforming to the gender binary.

Claire McBride retells their story on how they stopped going to church after realizing that they are queer. They explained how they struggled with reconciling their religious identity with their queerness.

The news article talks about the “Right to Care” card developed by the Quezon City government to provide LGBTQ+ couples the ability to make healthcare decisions for their partner as they are often barred from doing this.

Olivares (2018) expresses in their article that "I believe that Jesus loves me because I'm gay — not in spite of my sexuality." They explain how queer people have their own definitions of “God” and “gay” which they apply in order to find common ground between their two identities.
