This was taken on the newly opened football pitch in SM Mall of Asia. I decided to take this photo for the theme Height, as the fences redirect the gaze of the audience, like lines that point up. With the vibrant green grass visible on the bottom of the shot, it can be figured that the fences are indeed very tall. Quite cliche of me to literally use big things to showcase the theme, yet a classic move like this is not bad!
I used the setting ISO 100 since it was very sunny when this was taken, along with an aperture of f/8 to capture the tall fences while maintaining a close depth of field for the back. My shutter speed of 1/320 helped me capture the photo rapidly to avoid any motion blurs as I wasn't using any tripod to set the camera up.
This is obviously located on the same location where the previous photo Beyond the field was taken. The focus is entirely on the chains but the blurring of the background still signified that it is from a football field. What made me want to go take a photo of this one is the satisfying pattern of the chains, all interlocked together, sometimes I wonder how they were even made in the first place.
ISO 100 was used since it was a clear sunny day. Aperture of f/7.1 was utilized to focus closely on the chains, while blurring the background enough, with a shutter speed of 1/200 to capture the photo with less light since it was like the sun is right on me.
This was on the wall of a Big Brew branch next to my street. Not gonna lie, their lights blind me, but I still decided to capture it since it was a nice contrast between the dimmed surroundings and the illumination coming from the cheap coffee shop, and with only my phone in my pocket, I had to grab the opportunity.
I could only control the aperture on my iPhone 11, I was quite limited, but I made sure to utilize the aperture of f/1.8 to make sure that I could capture the lamp as my focus.
I set up three things in my room to capture this shot: my camera in place, dried flowers given by my boyfriend, and a make-shift golden light source using a lamp. I specifically wanted to capture the flowers in this way as I wanted to show the warmness through the light, and the intense red of the petals. I figured that it'll be a good way to showcase the intimate and alluring nature of flowers.
Aperture of f/5.3 was used so that I could focus closely on the flowers while still blurring out some petals. ISO was at 800 because my room is quite dark, and there was a light source that helped highlight the high points of the flowers. Shutter speed was at 1/30 to capture only the right amount of light in the lens.
I decided to capture the water steps of MOA sky because I figured it was nice to freeze the motion of the flowing water, while still suggesting a form of diagonal composition based on the stairs and the way that I angled the shot.
An aperture of f/5.6 was used to maintain a well-lit photo, not too bright nor too dark. ISO was set at 160 because this was shot outdoors while the sun was at its peak. Shutter speed of 1/1000 was utilized to capture rapidly the moving water, so that it could look very crisp, as if it was frozen in time.
