The Volunteer Corps is composed of passionate members from the Engineering FST, committed to creating meaningful impact and driving positive change. By fostering collaboration and teamwork, the Corps empowers volunteers to actively participate in various initiatives within the Engineering FSTs and the Engineering Freshie Council. Every member plays a crucial role in supporting projects and activities, engaging in standing committees, and taking on responsibilities aligned with their interests and skills. Through the dedication of its volunteers, the Corps advances progress toward a better engineering department at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
We envision a dynamic and inclusive Volunteer Corps that serves as a vital pillar of the Council, inspiring freshies, shiftees, and transferees in their first year to engage with the College of Engineering community. Through active participation, the Corps aims to cultivate leadership, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence in service, driving positive and lasting impacts on campus life.
Semestral Volunteers commit to supporting the Council for an entire semester. Their responsibilities include actively contributing to the planning, preparation, and execution of semestral projects. They will be assigned to one of the five standing committees and a team per department based on their interests, skills, or the Council's needs.
(See Committees and Departments below.)
Leadership Roles: Semestral volunteers in leadership positions oversee specific projects or flagship initiatives within their committee. They take responsibility for planning, coordinating, and leading teams to ensure successful execution.
General Volunteer Roles: General volunteers assist with tasks such as event preparation, logistics, or committee-specific duties. They provide essential support without the added responsibilities of leadership.
Bi-Montly Commitments:
1 Hour: Bi-Monthly committee meetings to discuss progress, assign tasks, and plan upcoming activities.
Expectations:
Attend at least 80% of meetings and events to maintain active volunteer status.
Communicate any scheduling conflicts with committee or team heads in advance.
These time commitments may be subject to change and will depend on the Council's needs during the semester.
One-Shot Project Volunteers offer their support on a short-term, project-specific basis for individuals who wish to volunteer but have limited availability. Unlike semestral volunteers, their assignments are not tied to a specific committee but are based on the immediate needs of the project they will be helping with.
Leadership Roles: For volunteers with relevant experience or expertise, they may lead smaller project-specific teams or manage specific aspects of the event, such as registration, logistics, or program flow.
General Volunteer Roles: The majority of one-shot project volunteers assist with hands-on tasks such as event setup, crowd management, or executing assigned responsibilities during the project.
Pre-Project Commitments:
1–2 Hours: Attend a project briefing to understand roles and responsibilities.
1–3 Hours: If necessary, assist with preparatory tasks like material preparation or event promotion.
On-Project Commitments:
4–8 Hours: Active participation during the project day(s), including setup, execution, and cleanup.
Expectations:
Be punctual and fully present during the project to ensure smooth execution.
Complete any assigned tasks to the best of their ability and seek clarification if unsure.
These time commitments may be subject to change and will depend on the Council's needs during the semester.
Certifications:
Volunteers will receive certificates and other similar recognitions for their work from the Council.
Early Access to EFC Website Academic Materials:
Volunteers may receive exclusive early access to academic materials, resources, or study guides that will be available on the EFC website.
Game Nights and Study Circles:
Volunteers may join informal game nights or study circles with the Council to socialize, relax, and network with peers.
ESC Workshops:
Volunteers will have the opportunity to attend Engineering Student Council (ESC) workshops, which provide valuable skills in leadership, event management, communication, and other professional areas.
Access to Partnership Events:
Volunteers may gain access to special events hosted through partnerships with external organizations or other student groups. These events could be networking opportunities, workshops, or conferences that provide additional value to volunteers beyond their regular duties.
Project Headships:
Volunteers who demonstrate leadership potential and consistent performance may be offered the opportunity to become project heads.
