Beati semper. Semper gratus.
Hey! It's Catrina Nojara Eustaquio - Coralde, RN, MPH.
I like the moniker "The Nurse who cuts the financial umbilical cord" because I know the struggles of eldest children who become the breadwinner of their family as soon as they graduate. My bigger goal, especially now that I'm a mom, is to be last sandwiched breadwinner in our family lineage by cutting the cord of familial culture of financial dependency.
Currently, I'm working as a researcher at a tertiary hospital.

I graduated BS Nursing in 2010. During that time, nursing job opportunities were at scarce. Many of the nursing graduates opted to start their career in Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) industry. I also tried but got rejected, and I was redirected in teaching. I was given the chance to become an English as Secondary Language (ESL) Teacher where I taught Korean, Vietnamese and some Chinese students to learn English. From that experience, I realized that I have strength in teaching but not the enough techniques to be as effective as the teachers who graduated with a degree on education.
However, the plan on getting education units and the teaching license were put on hold because I prioritized finishing my Master of Public Health from UP Manila.
The main reason is my kid. I want to be near her. Working in Manila takes a lot of my time and energy. By God's grace, hopefully I can have a career in teaching in our hometown.
