Writing was not an option for me before; instead, it was a path I never imagined taking and was very different from my ideal course. When I first started filling in my blank pages, I struggled with uncertainties and doubt. However, my creativity was sparked by the abundance of love, hope, and cultural stories I heard while growing up in Palawan. I write because words are my bridge to understanding who I am and where I came from. Whether reflecting on the comforting taste of Chaolong or the complexities of family, I write to capture the emotions and lessons that shape my life. Ultimately, every piece I create allows me to reflect on my experiences and communicate them in a way that resonates with others.
Throughout my journey, I have learned that writing is more than just a skill—it is a tool for growth and connection. I have learned perseverance, patience, and the value of self-expression. Knowing that every story I tell has the potential to inspire and heal, I welcome the challenges and lessons it presents. Thus, writing has become my purpose, my brave choice, and my way of honoring the stories that matter. It is also my way of turning life's chaotic events into something meaningful.
