Students' regulations
Academic Regulations
A) While in UP The student shall be subjected to the rules of UP students and legislation of Mexico. It is the responsibility of both the International Office and the student to stay in close communication during the exchange and communicate to the university or embassy in case of any event that should occur.
B) Course selection and accreditation The student is responsible for choosing the subjects that can be revalidated in accordance with his/her study abroad plan.
The student undertakes the responsibility of taking the course lectures and comply with accreditation requirements of each course as would any other enrolled student at UP. The student will receive the official transcript of records through the International Office, which will then be send to the International Office of their home university to create the appropriate validation of the courses taken.
C) Duration and extension The students will initially spend a semester with the possibility of extending to two semesters long, this extension must be approved by their home university and the scholar services of the UP. All negotiations that students make directly with the destination university (UP) in terms of extension, shall not be valid. This extension can be possible only when students show good development over the first semester and don't fail more than one course.

Justification of absences
Information for Campus Guadalajara only
In case you are absent from a class, the only reason that your absence can be justified is with a doctor's prescription because you are sick or in the hospital. Please email the teacher or let them know what's going on and copy Cecilia Corrales on it. All of the teachers will ask for her approval before deciding anything.
Keep in mind that even if absences are justified, these are not removed from your record. Justification only allows you to deliver homework, classwork or test out of the class schedule. *Professors have the last word when it comes to academic matters.
Besides that, UP DOES NOT ALLOW other reasons to justify your absences. Be cautious with any unexpected problem that may affect your attendance in your classes.
Travelling is not an excuse to skip classes.
Each class has a limit of absences and you can check your record on UP4U.
You have no more than seven days to submit your medical justification, but you must inform your coordinator as soon as you get sick.
According to university rules, in case of COVID-19, the test that proves you are positive must come from a laboratory and must have a QR code to make it valid.
Special situations out of these regulations, will be analyzed in coordination with the Body of Professors and the International Affairs office.
