Are you ready to enter my thoughts ?
I've used the Overlyapp application to vividly showcase a snippet of what has been on my mind throughout my journey in CALL. Since the app didn't permit me to share a QR code or link for others to explore, I opted to screen record the 3D model using ScreenPal. These reflections englobe many different aspects, including contemplations on the Follow Through project, which stands as the longest longitudinal study in North America, its findings, and contrasting them with the myriad benefits of technology and progressive research, particularly in the realm of social-emotional learning. Additionally, I've reminded myself to maintain a growth mindset, trusting in my capacity to learn and improve. During my placement and blog posts, it was crucial for me to keep a positive attitude towards mastering different CALL tools and techniques, recognizing that setbacks are part of the learning process. I did my best to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, which has been pivotal in my becoming.
Another persistent thought that I had revolved around ensuring timely completion of projects for CPF by setting SMART goals—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound objectives related to CALL. This approach has allowed me to focus my efforts and monitor progress effectively. My thoughts have been instrumental in directing the process of setting goals, making it easier to establish clear and specific objectives that are in line with my desires (eg., creating French content that is fun and effective) and what I consider important (ensuring that my activities contribute to students' improvement in the French language).
Finally, I've addressed disruptions with a problem-solving mentality or through the "laissez-faire" coping strategy, which entails psychological adjustment—distinct from giving up. In the 3D model, I depicted this by illustrating my persistent attempts to score goals, capturing both successes and misses, showing the nature of my learning process. I've also recognized the advantages of leveraging AI to create lesson plans, images, and texts, particularly during tutoring sessions where immediate solutions are necessary.
