Dr Rana is a Professor of Psychology at the Centre for Psychology, School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, one of the premier Central Universities in India. He has obtained his MA, MPhil, and PhD in Psychology from the Centre of Advanced Study in Psychology at Utkal University, Odisha. He has been the recipient of the University Gold Medal in his Master's degree and the coveted Doctoral Fellowship of the Government of India by the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, to conduct his PhD research on ‘Police-Public Partnership for Peace’. The foundation of his professional career is a unique combination of degrees in Psychology and Law. He has also obtained BEd (SE-MR), a professional degree certified by the Rehabilitation Council of India. He has served as an Officer under the Government of India for a substantial period after being selected by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). He has also been selected for two State Civil Services. Because of his knack for research and teaching, he has left all his previous appointments and joined the faculty at the University of Hyderabad. He is a recipient of the University of Hyderabad Chancellor’s Award for his contribution to teaching, research, and corporate life.
As a Resource Person, Dr Rana has conducted several workshops and training programs on Research Methodology and Data Analysis across Central Universities, National Institutes, including IIT, and other National and State organizations. Moreover, he has published several research papers in national and international refereed and peer-reviewed journals, as well as in books published by Elsevier, Emerald, Sage, Springer, Wolters Kluwer, Routledge, and Pearson.
