Lab Updates

2024:

Ms Faiza Gilani and Ms Thorra Bhavani attended a one-day pre-conference workshop on "Basics of Clinics: Interactive tutorials" and an international conference on "Advances in Mechanisms and Approaches to Neuro-therapeutics (AIM-AT)" conducted by the Indian Academy of Neuroscience (IAN) at NIMHANS, Bengaluru from 11 to 14 November 2024.
Ms Faiza Gilani attended the National workshop on “Behavioural and brain health in ageing” held at the University of Hyderabad from 18-19 October 2024.
Ms Jayashree T won the 2nd best oral presentation prize in the National workshop on “Behavioural and brain health in ageing” held at the University of Hyderabad from 18-19 October 2024.
Ms Jayashree T attended a 2-day Pre-conference workshop on “Advanced techniques in molecular neurobiology” and gave an oral talk at the International Conference on “Innovations and Future Perspectives in Neurochemistry” conducted by the Society for Neurochemistry India (SNCI) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, from 23-25 September 2024.
Ms Sheetal Kaur attended the Society for Neurochemistry India (SNCI) conference on “Innovations and Future Perspectives of Neurochemistry” and the pre-conference workshop on “Advanced Techniques in Molecular Neurobiology,” held at Panjab University, Chandigarh on Sept. 23-25, 2024.

2023:

Mr. Himangshu Kashyap, our lab internee, was admitted to the MSc Neuroscience program at Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland).
Ms Faiza got training in a 3-day conference cum workshop on 'New Vistas in Drug Discovery, Design, and Delivery- 2023' held from 4th to 6th October 2023 at SLS, University of Hyderabad.

Dr. Gautam attended the 11th IBRO World Congress of Neuroscience in Granada (Spain) from 9th to 13th September 2023 and presented his lab work. Grants from CSIR, UoH-IOE and INSA, New Delhi, supported his travel.
Sheetal was selected for the SERB-sponsored workshop on "Basic and Advanced Techniques in Immunohistochemistry and Cytochemistry", organised by NIAB, Hyderabad, from July 24th to 28th, 2023.
Dr. Gautam received the "best oral presentation" award at the IBRO-supported International conference cum workshop “Nano-pharmaceuticals and Neurological disorders”, organized by IGNTU, Amarkantak from 2-4th Feb 2023.

2022:

Mr. Prabaht Kumar (our lab's project trainee) published his publication entitled "Role of microRNA in regulation of synaptic plasticity during post-traumatic stress disorder" in Materials Today: Proceedings
Our MSc dissertation student, Ms Thorra Bhavani, got her first paper accepted in Materials Today: Proceedings. The published work was part of her MSc thesis.
Dr. Akash Gautam was selected for the fully-funded IBRO-APRC Advanced School of Neuroscience (10-22 October 2022) at Monash University, Malaysia.
Mr. Prabhat Kumar (project trainee) joined as a PhD student at the Medical School, University of Pécs, Pécs, Hungary.
Dr. Vishnu Shandilya got a post-doctoral position at UCLA California Alzheimer’s Disease Center, California, USA.

2021:

Dr. Akash Gautam was selected as the Young Investigator Colloquium (YIC) Speaker of the 16th Meeting of the Asian-Pacific Society for Neurochemistry (APSN), Singapore, scheduled on December 13-14, 2021.
