Universidad de O'Higgins, Rancagua, Chile

March 22, 23 & 24 2021

Call for Participation

The First Japan-Chile Symposium in Field Robotics aims to provide an overview of the current state of robotics, with a focus on field robotics. It will address various application areas from a technical point of view, while also promoting discussion on the economical, social and technical impacts of this technology.

The symposium will have lectures of renown academics, with these researchers sharing their views with the audience on various topics, while also providing various chances for discussion. To provide a wide overview of the field, recognized researchers from Japan, Chile and abroad will be invited. To maximize the impact in the Chile's research, industry and the overall society, we have selected areas of field robotics where Japan has produced important contributions, while also being areas of importance for Chile.

These include agriculture robots, rescue and disaster robots, among others. For deepening the understanding about these technologies between all stakeholders we plan to invite public and private decision makers to join various discussion panels that will take during the event. In summary, the project consist of an Academic symposium, where renown academics will share their views with the audience, and discussion panels will seek to identify important issues, solutions, collaboration, and synergies for Japan, Chile and other countries.

    • Prof. Noguchi, Hokkaido University, Japan

    • Prof. Keiji Nagatani, Tokyo University, Japan

    • Dr. Satoshi Iida, Kubota S.A., Japan

    • Dr. Juxi Leitner, Australian Center for Robot Vision, Australia
