I was fortunate enough to graduate from the University of South Dakota with a degree in Elementary Education. During my time at USD I also received a reading and writing endorsement. Currently I am completing my Masters in Education at York College in York, Nebraska. I am intending on continuing my education to enhance my ability as an educator for your children.
I have been teaching at Omaha Nation Public School for six years now. I have had the unique experience of teaching many students beginning at pre-school to my current position as a fifth grade teacher. Before I began teaching at Omaha Nation I worked as a substitute in Sioux City, Iowa and student taught at Irving Elementary.
As I stated above, I truly enjoying teaching reading and writing. These are the subjects I have specialized in and enjoy encouraging my students to show similar passion. I also take joy in integrating the arts into our students base curriculum. Teaching various arts (digital, music, dance, culture, etc.) is a fabulous way of incorporating creativity, knowledge and culture into the classroom.
