The word in Quechua, "Tinkuy", means meeting. But also conveys the Andean idea that knowledge emerges from the productive convergence of distinct domains, rather than from their isolation.
The TINKUY 2026 Summer Workshop on Theoretical Physics is a local event that brings Peruvian students and experts to pedagogically expose their research and recent developments in the frontier of Theoretical Physics.
This event is organized by the Theoretical and High Energy Physics Group at UNMSM (Grupo de Física Teórica y Altas Energías GFT-HEP UNMSM), and it will be held in-person in the auditorium of the Post-Graduate Building of Physics at UNMSM, Lima, Perú.
The workshop is primarily intended for advanced undergraduates, graduate students, and researchers/Professors working in any topic of Theoretical Physics. Nevertheless, the conference welcomes any undergraduate Peruvian Physics student interested in Theoretical Physics.
The speakers will present their own research in two categories: short talks (20 min) during the contributed section of the event, designated for junior researchers or undergraduate students; and slightly longer talks (30 min) for graduate students and more experienced researchers/Professors. The talks will be conducted either in English or Spanish.
This event is the first in the planned annual series of GFT-HEP UNMSM Conferences, to disseminate knowledge in the field and facilitate networking within our small community of Peruvians and collaborators working in Theoretical Physics.
Unfortunately, there is no financial support for this workshop. Each participant is responsible for arranging their own flights, transportation, accommodation, and meals. We encourage all local participants from nearby cities (Trujillo, Ica, Huaraz, etc) to register for free and attend in person, if possible. This event will not be broadcast or transmitted online, but a Zoom link will be provided upon request.
Deadline for schedule confirmation by the speakers: February 9th
