When I think of teaching, I cannot help but think how similar it is to mountain climbing. Over the last 10 years my wife and I have hike mountains all over the western United States. During these adventures, we have encountered a myriad of unexpected challenges that require critical thinking and adjustability. Countless ups and downs challenge you both physically and mentally. There are times of extreme difficulty and times of pure triumph. The effort you put towards completing your goal, whether it’s a peak above 12,000 feet or unit on western expansion, will determine your success. Teaching in a sense is like climbing a mountain.
