Welcome!
A forum for UNLV School of Public Health (SPH) students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners to read and think about stories with public health themes and to connect with others who are part of the UNLV SPH community.

Join the conversation.
The UNLV Public Health Salon will gather regularly and in person during the Fall 2024 semester.
Participants will read short stories written during the COVID-19 pandemic by prominent, contemporary authors; reading well-written writing is a gateway to writing well.
Each Salon gathering will provide participants a chance to connect and to think about these stories. Conversations will focus on what these stories reveal about people living through a pandemic (including us) and implications for the public health sector.
The schedule of gatherings and associated readings is available on the Gatherings page. Attend as many gatherings as you can. Please try to RSVP but attend even if you did not.
Everyone with a connection to the UNLV SPH is welcome -- students, faculty, staff, alumni, community partners.
Participating is voluntary and free.
Oh -- and there will be snacks.
Tremendous gratitude to the people and organizations supporting this project and making it happen.
This project is supported in part by the Black Mountain Institute at UNLV.
