Schedule of Events
We are excited to see you all present at the Spring 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium!
Please see the schedule below to identify the specific time and location for your presentation. Please note that the times listed are the specific times that our faculty research judges will be at your presentation. If you are late to your presentation time, your time will not be extended. Please inform your co-presenters of your presentation time.
Presentation Evaluation
There will be two levels of presentation evaluation:
At least two faculty judges are assigned to each session listed. They will ask questions about your research and provide written constructive feedback. OUR collects these feedback forms and will send them to you in the weeks following the event. From each session, the judges will identify a "Session Finalist". Once announced, Session Finalists will be asked to return to their designated presentation location for the final round of presentations.
Session Finalists will be asked to present once more to a Grand Jury of faculty judges starting at 1:00 PM. They will ask questions and provide constructive feedback. The Grand Jury will select a winner for each discipline's type of presentation (i.e. Best Poster Presentation in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences). Winners of each category will receive a certificate to celebrate their accomplishments during the Awards Ceremony at 2:00 PM.
Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences (AHS)
AHS Poster (P) finalists will be announced during lunch at 1:00 PM.
Given the limited AHS Lighting Talk (LT) presentations, no grand jury will be held for AHS LTs. The AHS-LT session winner will be announced during the Awards Ceremony at 2:00 PM.
AHS Podium (O) finalists will be announced during the awards ceremony at 2:00pm
Health & Natural Sciences & Engineering (HNSE)
HNSE Poster (P) finalists will be announced during lunch at 1:00 PM. The F-HNSE-P final session will begin at 12:20 PM in the SU Ballrooms.
Given the limited HNSE podium and lightning talk presentations, no grand jury will be held for the HNSE Oral Session (HNSE-O). The HNSE-O session winner will be announced during the Awards Ceremony at 2:00PM.
Undergraduate researchers unavailable to present to the Grand Jury Round will not be considered during the final round.
