2021 Undergraduate Research Stimulus Program

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) in the Division of Research invites faculty research mentors (FRM) and their undergraduate research mentees (URM) to submit proposals to conduct collaborative research between July 1, 2021 and December 1, 2021.

The one-time OUR 2021 Undergraduate Research Stimulus Program (URSP), funded by the Federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF II), provides $239,500 to be granted in two separate tracks. FRM cannot apply for both of the two tracks concurrently.

As the global pandemic shifted the priorities in higher education during the past year, UNLV’s capacity to involve undergraduate students in research has significantly diminished. To this end, OUR aims to convene FRM from all academic disciplines to stimulate diverse and inclusive mentor-mentee collaboration opportunities, to enhance URM skill development and capacity building, and to remedy the negative impacts of the global pandemic at UNLV.
