• Complete 1 semester of full-time graduate coursework in a counselor education program (9 credits)

• Earned a grade point average of 3.5 or better

• Be recommended or endorsed for membership by the faculty

• Membership dues are $50 and paid when submitting the New Member Application*

• A $10 Chapter fee will also be paid directly to the local chapter (one time fee)

*The New Member Application opens during the early Spring semester. The application is only available once a year.  Failure to apply by the given deadline means that you will have to apply the following year. Students are not considered full members of CSI until they have attended the induction ceremony. The induction ceremony is typically held in mid- to late- April. 

• The CSI international website includes many 1-hour webinars for free Continuing Education clock hours. This includes topics ranging from leadership, professional, and client advocacy/professional issues. 

• CSI Days, an annual professional development workshop, focuses on leadership trainings, opportunities to network with others, professional academic sessions, and special recognition of achievement for many chapters and members. 

• CSI also offers annual awards, fellowships, internship programs, grants, and scholarships through their main website. 

• Events and workshops hosted by CSI Omega Alpha will be free for you to attend. Typically, we host a variety of workshops covering topics focused on multicultural counseling, social justice, advocacy, and licensure. 

Many spots will be available for the 2027 to 2028 year, as many of our board hold one-year terms. If you are interested in developing your leadership skills, this is a wonderful opporutnity to get involved with the cohorts. This also can be a great addition to your resume/CV, while you build/strengthen relationships with faculty and students. 

The following positions will be available every year: President-Elect (2-year term, with the second year serving as President), Secretary, Treasurer, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Representative, School Counseling Representative, Doctoral Student Representative, Social Media Coordinator, and Alumni Liaison. 

Requirements for joining: You must be a current CSI member OR be applying to be a member for the upcoming term. A faculty must endorse you for a leadership position.
