The Pipeline for Cybersecurity Professionals Begins at UNLV Summer Camp: GenCyber Camp already is reaping rewards by turning high school participants into UNLV

Camp Dates

• Spring camps: Saturdays, April 23 & 30, 2022

• Summer camp: Monday ~ Friday, June 6 ~ 10, 2022

• Fall camp: Saturday, November 5, 2022

Daily Schedule (Varies slightly daily)

• 8:30am - 9:00am: Check-in and light breakfast

• 9:00am - 12:15pm: Morning program (Morning snack around 10:30am)

• 12:15pm - 1:00pm: Lunch

• 1:00pm - 4:00pm: Afternoon program (Afternoon snack around 3:00pm)

• 4:00pm - 4:30pm: Daily summary and quiz for prizes

Highlights of the program

• Free breakfast, lunch and morning/afternoon snacks. There is no cost to attend. 

• Lots of daily and team prizes.

• Notebook computer will be available to each attendant.

• Knowledge in cybersecurity. Students will learn fundamental cybersecurity concepts through lectures and demonstrations.

• Hands-on cybersecurity activities. Students will experience with exciting hacking tools and techniques. They will be engaged in team competitions for attacks and defenses.

• Group activities on critical infrastructure protection.

• Guest speeches. Cybersecurity experts from top cybersecurity organizations will present the current status of cyber attacks and defenses.

Event Location and Driving Direction 

The UNLV GenCyber camp will be held at UNLV SEB (Science and Engineering Building) located at the north side of the UNLV Campus. Please refer to the direction on this page (SEB).  An outdoor parking lot (Lot P) is located at the north side of the building. Parents can drop students off at the north entrance of SEB from parking lot P. Part of the parking lot P is blocked due to construction, but the SEB north entrance is still accessible. If students are driving a car, they can park at the parking building next to SEB (Cottage Grove Parking Garage). Parking is FREE on Saturdays for Spring and Fall camps. During summer camps, parking permits will be distributed on the first day for self-drivers.

The event will be held at the classroom (SEB 1242) on the first floor everyday. Registration desk will be located in front of the classroom.
