Symposium: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on University Academic Knowledge

On the occasion of World Philosophy Day, the College of Engineering at the University of Sulaimani, in collaboration with the Kurdistan Institution for Strategic Studies and Scientific Research (KISSR) and Halabja University, organized a symposium titled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on University Academic Knowledge: Future Challenges.”
The symposium opened with a speech by the Dean of the College of Engineering, (Prof. Dr. Serwan Khorsheed), who emphasized the significance of addressing the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) on all aspects of life and academia.
Key speakers presented diverse perspectives on AI:
Prof. Dr. Shwan Kamal highlighted the role of AI in revolutionizing personalized treatments and drug discovery in medical science.
Prof. Dr. Salah Reza and Dr. Hussein Rabi, experts in physics, explored AI’s impact on theoretical physics and discussed tools like ChatGPT and Google CoLab for analyzing complex equations.
Dr. Shko Ali traced the history of robotics and examined how the AI revolution could shape the future of higher education.
Dr. Nali Adham addressed the challenges and opportunities for the Kurdish language in the AI era.
Dr. Azad Hama provided a philosophical perspective on fears surrounding AI’s impact on humanity, individual identity, and cultural values.
The symposium offered insightful discussions on the role of AI in shaping the future of education and the broader implications for humanity.
