Student Updates
Coaches for Jr. Bulldogs
(possible senior project?)
- Many of our students have coached youth teams as a senior project. If you are interested in coaching, please contact Mr. Souchek about upcoming opportunities. This could be seniors or juniors, and is a great experience! They need coaches for all different sports, and a couple of them are signing up right now.
From Mr. Souchek and Jr. Bulldogs:
This week is priority registration for flag football and soccer for the spring. We don't have a single flag football team and we are missing soccer teams at a few levels. The season runs from the end of March to the beginning of May. We'd need to find an adult to be the official coach for any student under 18, but that shouldn't be a problem. If there are any Juniors out there that would like to coach a team, please have them contact me ASAP. If they get to me this week, I can almost guarantee them a full team of University kids. bsouchek@universityschools.com
Make sure to use the crosswalk in the mornings.
Internships!
For the past 12 years, University has participated in the District 6 summer internship program. This provides paid internships for students between their junior and senior years. If you own or manage a business or organization, and you would be willing to host a summer intern, please contact Jessie Kern (jkern@universityschools.com) or Lisa Hudson (lhudson2@greeleyschools.org) for information on how to get started!
Juniors, be looking for information on how to apply for summer internships through the district program in your email soon. You will apply through a site called Xello, and compete for spots in some amazing summer internships. These are paid internships that guarantee you at least 150 hours over the summer.
Course registration for next year is open. Please make sure to get all your requests in to Infinite Campus and check with your parents and advisor.
If you need help with job shadows or internship, reach out to Mrs. Kern. She has tons of great contacts to share with you!
Make sure to apply for Career Academy for next year
