Welcome to the 2025 - 2026 School Year  

I am excited to begin my 13th year here at UPCS and my 21st year teaching!  

I am a southern California native, born and raised in Torrance, California. I spent 17 years of my adult life living in New England where I raised my daughter, Jordan.  While we loved living in the Northeast, we were excited to move back to California after my daughter finished college to be near our immediate family.  I now call Camarillo home!

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and Elementary Education, as well as my Master of Science degree in Special Education at Bay Path University in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts.  As an educator I also consider myself a life-long learner, because of this, I completed a Graduate Certificate program for Middle School Mathematics through Walden University in 2018. 

Prior to moving back to California and teaching at UPCS, I had the opportunity to teach for 8 years in Springfield, Massachusetts. Over the past 20ish years in the classroom I have taught every grade K-8 with the exception of 3rd grade. I absolutely love teaching in middle school and consider it a great honor and privilege to work in the classroom with students.  

In my free time I enjoy many activities including spending time with my family, traveling, reading a good book, doing arts and crafts including Legos and MGA's Miniverse miniatures, enjoying the beach, cheering on my Red Sox and New England Patriots, and continuing my quest to visit every Disney Park in the world! So far I have been to the Disneyland Resort here in California, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan, and the Paris Disneyland Resort in France (only two more to go!)

My goal as a math and science teacher is to create a meaningful, interactive, respectful, and fun learning environment where students can be curious, investigate, make mistakes, and experience great success while learning.
