I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education at CSU Northridge in 2013. However, my story begins much further back.
My music education started when I was 8 years old under the guidance of Gilberto Vazquez, but even before then, I've been told I would sing to pop songs at the age of 2... though I can't recall and there isn't any proof. I began to learn the skills and respect for an art form known as Mariachi music, which I still play to this day. As I matured as a musician, I started asking more questions to many other Mariachi instructors (too many to name), to the point where I decided to start my formal classical training in my 20s. Under the guidance of Ventura College and CSUN faculty, as well as many other musicians I met along the way, I became what I am today.
Every day, I learn something new, and it's my goal to share my knowledge with my students, guiding them to achieve their professional goals in the field I'm privileged to teach: music.
