The main aim of the program “Inclusive Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship” is to provide participants with a universal and comprehensive knowledge of sustainability management and reporting, encompassing various disciplines, country experiences and perspectives. In particular, this program will develop a comprehensive course in II&SE that will enhance integration of education and inclusive innovation, promote cooperation with social economy actors, and foster learning “for” and “through” social entrepreneurship. First, given the importance sustainability is increasingly assuming in the global society, and at all levels, acquiring knowledge about sustainability management and reporting can be considered essential. Therefore, providing participants with the opportunity to obtain it is the main aim of the course. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues are becoming more and more integrated in all kinds of business. Not only sustainable actions are required and promoted at the European level by International and European policies on sustainable development and the European Commission's Green Deal, but also by more and more individuals, asking for firms’ responsible actions. For this reason, ESG issues are becoming crucial to address societal expectations and evolving market requirements. Indeed, companies are now more and more required to design and implement solutions aimed at ultimately improving the welfare and wellbeing of individuals and communities. At this regard, certain companies are required by law to develop, alongside the financial statement, a Non-Financial Report, while other companies are developing and publishing Non-Financial Reports voluntarily. As ESG issues are becoming pivotal in corporate management and reporting, transparency is a fundamental requisite to be respected. Therefore, being able to manage and report ESG issues is as valuable as necessary in the modern business world. A second aim of the summer school is making participants able to make comparisons and have a wider knowledge of the implications of managing and reporting ESGs. This will help to fill the gap between traditional teaching of management and accounting and the necessity of integration of sustainability, which is becoming increasingly asked by companies and organizations worldwide.
