Call for Papers

Call for Papers

Papers (in abstract form) are invited from the scholars, practitioners,students and the teachers in the field of ELT. Papers are anticipated to reflect the theme of the symposium.


Guidelines for authors

Authors of accepted papers will be allowed to make a presentation for 10 minutes which will be followed by a 5 minute Q&A session.

Power-point slides of the accepted papers are expected to be emailed to selt@univ.jfn.ac.lk and presented only in English.

Abstract

Abstract should be original, unpublished and should not have been submitted for consideration somewhere else. One of the authors should present the paper at the conference once accepted.


1. The content of abstract is limited to 350 words.

Font : Times New Roman.

Line space 1.5

2. The content of abstract should have Title, Author(s), Institution(s) or Affiliation(s), email(s) of author(s) the body of abstract and Keyword(s).

3. Skip a line between (a) Title and Author, (b) Institution (c ) email and the body of abstract, (d) the body of abstract and (e) keywords (maximum 5).


4. Please refer to the following fonts instructions:

• Title: 14pt, bold, centralized alignment

• Author: 11pt, bold, centralized alignment.

• Institution: 10pt, regular, centralized alignment.

• Email: Email ID(s) all authors in the order of the names of authors; 10pt, regular, centralized alignment.

• The body of abstract: 11pt, regular, justified alignment

• Keywords: 11pt, regular, left alignment


5. Underline the name of the author who will present the paper.

6. The corresponding author is marked using asterisk *

7. Organize the body of the abstract as follows:

• A statement of the objective(s) of the study

• A statement(s) of the methods employed in gathering data & analysis.

• A summary of the findings / results in sufficient details to support the conclusions.

• Conclusions.

• Do not use subtitles, e.g., Methods, Results, etc.in the abstract

8. Please provide 3 to 5 keywords that can be used for indexing purposes.


9. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. The conference abstract submission form must be in soft copy. Please save as Microsoft Office Word file with your name ending with the following extension (.doc or .docx file).

2. Please indicate the sub theme under which your abstract falls, i.e.:

    • Current Methods and Innovations in ELT

    • Learner and Teacher Autonomy
    • Professional Development for Language Teachers
    • Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching
    • Literary and Linguistic Studies for ELT
    • Literature in the Language Classroom
    • Theatre Tasks for Language Teaching
    • Use of Translated Pieces in ELT
    • The Mass Media in ELT
    • Any other topics relevant to the conference theme

Guidelines for Paper Presenters

The paper presentations are limited to 10 minutes followed by a Q&A session of 5 minutes.

The Power-point slides presentations are expected to be sent by email and presented only in English.


Guidelines for Poster Presenters -

Poster presenters have to bring their posters of 3 feet x 4 Feet size on the day of the presentation along with necessary tools for displaying. Locations for the display of the posters will be arranged by the ELTC.
