Christian Civilization Students' Association

The student body of the Dept. of Christian Civilization functioned with the name ‘Christian Society’ from 1992. Its constitution was approved by Prof. A. Thurairajah and Rev. Dr. A.J.V. Chandrakanthan gave his consent to be the Patron and the Senior Treasurer of the Christian Society.

In 2013, the name ‘Christian Society’ was changed as ‘Christian Civilization Students' Association’ (CCSA). Its constitution was approved by Prof. (Ms) V. Arasaratnam. Prof. G. Pilendran and Dr. Rev. T. Jebamohan have given their consent to be the Patron and the Senior Treasurer of the Association respectively.

First constitutional amendment was made on the 22^nd of April, 2014. The Head of the Dept. of Hindu Civilization, Prof. M. Vethanathan was appointed by the Vice Chancellor as Senior Treasurer of the Association. After his retirement Dr. (Mrs.) S. Srimuraleetharan serves as the Senior Treasurer of the Association.

Activities

Each academic year the students of the department celebrate welcome function for first year students and the going down function for the third year general degree and the fourth year special degree students. In 2017 and 2019 Christmas celebrations were organized by the Dept. for the staff and students.

Publication

The Students’ Association had published a journal called ‘JANANAM’ from 1997 and only 3^rd volume is available. Its cover pages are displayed here.
