Career Statement
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Cultures, Politics and Society of the University of Turin. From 2020 to 2022 I was Postdoctoral Fellow (and Researcher Affiliate) at the Department of Political and Social Sciences (DSPS) of the University of Florence. From 2021 to 2023 I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Humanities (DISUM) of the University of Eastern Piedmont where I was also classroom Teaching Assistant of Political Philosophy.
I trained at the University of Pisa, where I obtained a M.Sc. (Laurea Magistrale) in Philosophical Sciences (2014) and then a Ph.D. in Political Philosophy (2019) under the supervision of Prof. Raimondo Cubeddu, to whom I owe thanks for introducing me to the thought of the Austrian School of Economics. I defended my Ph.D. thesis under the co-supervision of Prof. Salvatore Rizzello, who addressed me to Behavioral and Cognitive Economics and to the study of institutions and social norms.
My current research focuses on fake news and the cognitive failures of the democratic public and the consequences of political ignorance for the quality of democracy.
At the University of Florence I was the supervisor the research group “Il potere della menzogna: nella politica, nella società, nella cultura”.
I authored two book: Foucault e Hayek. Tra biopolitica e liberalismo (IBL, 2018), Douglass C. North (IBL, 2021). I edited a book that will be available in the next few months: Il potere della menzogna. Comunicazione e politica nella società digitale (Il Mulino, 2024).
