The authors of this article made a selection of seven papers dedicated to seven different aspects of Open Science: understanding open science; open access; open data, materials, and code; reproducible analyses; pre-registration and registered reports; replication research; and teaching open science. In this way they provide a comprehensive overview of the open science movement, providing useful guidelines and in-depth studies to the reader interested in undertaking this new way of doing research. For this reason, we have decided to present this article with the scope of stimulating a comprehensive reflection about these themes and promoting a dynamic discussion in class.
