Hackaprompt is a unique hackathon where teams of students tackle a single, large programming project using only large language models.

However, this is not just a test of prompt engineering, it’s an opportunity to deeply explore the strengths and limitations of generative AI. How well can these models handle complex reasoning? Where do they struggle? And how can we, as computer scientists and engineers, harness them effectively to solve real-world problems?

Through hands-on experimentation, students will develop a critical perspective on AI capabilities, engage in metacognitive reflection on problem-solving strategies, and gain insights into the evolving role of AI in software development.
