Gabriele Baratto is Assistant Professor in criminology at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento (Italy), senior researcher at the eCrime research group (Faculty of Law, University of Trento) and member of the Centre of Security and Crime Sciences (University of Trento and University of Verona).
At the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento, he is tenured holder of the courses: "Digital Criminology", "Urban Security: Juridical and Criminological Issues", "Corporate Security and Brand Protection", and "Financial crime and Risk Analysis". He is also a teaching assistant for the courses "Criminology" and "Applied Criminology". He is accademic specialist of the LL.M. in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity, and International Law (UNICRI, UPEACE, CSSC).
In the last 10 years he has worked on the links between crime and digital society, organised crime, urban security, hate speech, counterfeiting and criminal markets, human trafficking, smuggling of migrants and asylum seekers.
