Research Group on Collective Action, Change and Transition
The purpose of Co-ACT is to promote research, discussion and interdisciplinary training in the field of studies on collective action and social change. Co-ACT promotes the integration of teaching and research by encouraging the organization of teaching initiatives at the University and facilitating cultural exchange, scientific discussion and collaboration among researchers who explore collective action and social conflict, and technological and territorial transformations that occur with changes in the forms of social organization, production, communication, consumption and individual behaviour.
The Co-ACT research group aims to:
- facilitate cultural exchange and scientific discussion among researchers who explore collective action and social conflict, and political, technological and territorial transformations that involve individual and collective behaviour, the forms of social organization, production and consumption;
- establish and strengthen a network of national and international collaborations in this field of study and research;
- stimulate discussion on the topics at issue among all the participants in the academic community and civil society (professors, students, local public and private stakeholders) both nationally and internationally;
- encourage teaching, postgraduate training and lifelong learning initiatives in the areas of relevance;
- make available its expertise to stakeholders (departments and centres, University governance bodies, public and private organizations) for education and research initiatives;
- support the public dissemination of research.
