Growmark 

The GROWMARK Foundation is committed to making investments in education and programming of the future of the agriculture industry. We provide scholarship opportunities to students who are furthering their education in agriculture-related studies or accounting. The GROWMARK Foundation will provide a total of 55 $2,000 scholarships to students pursuing agriculture and business-related degrees or certificates at colleges, universities, and technical schools in the United States and Ontario, Canada.

Scholarships will be awarded based on information collected in this application, including academic achievement, school and community involvement, and essay responses. Selections will be made by an independent team of agribusiness and business professionals selected by GROWMARK, and their decision will be final. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the student's account at their respective school.  The application should be completed in full online and submitted by the deadline, including submission of a current photograph and your most recent semester's transcript. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. You are encouraged to craft your essay responses in a separate word processing program and copy and paste into this form.   Applications are due by midnight (Central Time) on May 12, 2023. Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 1, 2023.

Spherion Scholarship

This legacy scholarship has been created to recognize and honor the contribution of Sandy Mazur to Spherion and the Spherion franchise community by recognizing individuals pursuing a post-secondary education who best represent the qualities of excellence and passion during her distinguished career at Spherion.  Annually, recipients will be chosen to receive financial assistance in achieving their goals of higher education. The selected recipients will reside in a county owned by a Spherion franchisee.  A donor advisory committee, from within the Spherion community, will oversee the criteria, funds allocation and distribution of the scholarship. 100 Black Men of Central IL

Each year we provide scholarships to local graduating African American seniors that plan to attend college or some other formal learning institution, such as trade school, etc.   The deadline to apply this scholarship is April 30, 2023. 


Fairview PTO Scholarship

Fairview PTO will be awarding a $500 scholarship to graduating McLean County seniors who plan to attend college, vocational school, or a technical apprenticeship. To be eligible for the scholarship, seniors had to have attended Fairview Elementary School for two or more years. The deadline to apply is April 30th.

The Hudson Women's Club 

The Hudson Women's Club is awarding a one-time $500 scholarship.   Applicant must be a graduating senior girl from Normal Community West High School, Central Catholic High School or University High School who attended Hudson Elementary School and intends to immediately pursue higher education through college, a vocational school or apprenticeship.  Applications due April 30th


The Kappa Epsilon Sigma alumnae chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. 

The Carpe Diem Scholarship is provided to encourage and support the higher education endeavors of the youth in the Bloomington-Normal community. Considering the founding of the sorority by seven school teachers and the organization’s premier emphasis on education as a priority, this scholarship is awarded with the understanding of the necessity of education in achieving professional and career aspirations.


Qualifications

1. Applicants must be an African American graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited college or university for the 2022-2023 school year.

2. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average

3. Applicant must reside in the Bloomington-Normal area.

The Michelle Maria Moore Trade School Scholarship to be awarded to a student planning to pursue full-time study at a two-year college or vocational-technical school. To apply, students must be a high school seniors or undergraduates who plan to pursue a degree/certificate in trade fields such as construction, mechanics, culinary art, hospitality, or technology.


Qualifications

1. Applicants must be an African American graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited two-year college or vocational-technical school full-time for the 2022-2023 school year.

2. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average

3. Applicant must reside in the Bloomington-Normal area.

Bloomington-Normal Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. 

The Bloomington-Normal Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. scholarship is open until 5/6/23.  Here are the qualification criteria for this scholarship:  1. Must be African American   2.  Must be a graduating senior  3.  Must be a resident of Bloomington or Normal.  Apply here



Normal West PTO

Thank you for your interest in applying for a scholarship from the Normal West High School’s Parent-Teacher Organization.  The NCWHS PTO is seeking graduating seniors to be awarded a one-time scholarship.  One applicant will be selected and will receive a one-time $500 scholarship. Application and Essay are due by March 31st, 2023 and should be completed online. 


Pepper Ridge Elementary scholarship 

The student must be a 2023 graduate at Normal West or Normal Community and they must be a graduate from Pepper Ridge Elementary. The student must also have plans to pursue higher education immediately after graduation through either college, a technical certificate program or through an apprenticeship.  Applications are due April 10th.


Corporation of Alpha Zeta Delta of Chi Psi Fraternity (University of IL)

In the memory of our beloved Brother Buell, three scholarships, each worth $1,000, are being offered to qualified incoming freshmen men to the University of Illinois. This scholarship is offered without regard to race, creed, color or religion. Acceptance into the membership of the fraternity is not required. The scholarship will be paid in a single amount of $1,000 in the Fall semester upon proof of full-time enrollment at the University of Illinois. Recipients will be those applicants who best exemplify the ideals of Chi Psi Fraternity intellectually, morally and socially. ISPE Future Engineer Scholarship

If you are a high school senior considering a career in engineering you may be eligible for a college scholarship.  The scholarship is made possible through the Bloomington Area Chapter of the IL Society of Professional Engineers.   Apply by March 4th!


Alpha Kappa Alpha, Serving Bloomington/Normal 2023 Educational Scholarship

For consideration, the student must:

● Be Black or African American

● Reside in the Bloomington/Normal area

● Attend a high school in the Bloomington/Normal area

● Be enrolled in an accredited two-, three- or four-year college or university for the 2023-2024 school term

● Attach a resume that documents: scholastic honors/awards, extracurricular activities

Phi Beta Sigma 

The Kappa Mu Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. plans to award scholarships to high school students graduating in 2023. Bloomington Normal NAACP

The Bloomington Normal Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is pleased to announce the 2023 Mr. Henry Gay Sr. Scholarship, available to African American high school seniors who demonstrate leadership skills, communication, and embodies the spirit of the NAACP mission and goals.  Selections will be based on the students' excellence in community service, academic achievements and understanding the NAACP mission.  Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA out of a 5.0 scale or equivalent.  Applicants must plan to attend a 2 or 4-year accredited college or trade school.

Dr. Dominique Lawson Scholarship

Purpose: To provide financial support to students of color, the encourage students to pursue the field of psychology, and to bring awareness of the importance of addressing mental health.

Reward: One individual selected from the pool of qualified applicants will be awarded a one time scholarship for financial assistance during the 2022-23 academic year for $500.00. This is a non-renewal scholarship.

Farmhouse Fraternity at University of IL 

The Gamma Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign offers multiple scholarships to incoming students of all majors that will be attending the university the following year of applying. In 2022, the Illinois Chapter gave out over $15,000 to incoming students in scholarships. In 2023, we plan to give out more depending upon a qualified pool of candidates. Scholarships range from $500-$4,000.


To be eligible you must be a male student who will be attending the University of Illinois for the first time during the next fall semester. All majors are encouraged to apply by April 15th.


Unit 5 Educational Foundation Scholarship

Purpose: The Unit 5 Educational Foundation Scholarship was established in 2022 to honor graduating seniors who embody Unit 5 spirit and pride. 

Reward: A scholarship will be awarded to one student at each of the following schools: Normal Community, Normal West, and Eugene Field. The scholarship recipient(s) will be awarded a one time scholarship of $1,000 for financial assistance during the 2022-2023 academic year. This is a non-renewal scholarship. Deadline is March 1, 2023.

Marquis Energy Scholarships

Marquis Energy has a long history of driving innovation in biofuel production with a diverse portfolio of multi-generational, family-run companies focused on continual innovation in creating a sustainable world. Today Marquis is the largest dry-mill ethanol facility in the world, producing 400 million gallons annually. 


This year Marquis is offering the Marquis "What Fuels You" Scholarship, awarding a total of $10,000 in scholarships with up to two $2,500 scholarships for all students that live within a 90 mile radius of Hennepin and will be enrolled in college, graduate school, or a technical institute for the Fall 2023 semester.

Zeta Phi Beta 

The local graduate chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, has served the Bloomington/Normal community for 28 years through service initiatives and programs that empower minority youth to pursue their educational and career goals. We are committed to providing service to the community through a wide range of programming, which includes providing scholarships to local students.  This year our chapter is proud to offer scholarship opportunities to graduating high school seniors and to a single parent continuing his or her degree in our community.

IL Agri-Women

This year, the Illinois Agri-Women (IAW) organization is offering 4 scholarships for females studying agriculture. The Illinois Agri-Women (IAW) organization supports the agriculture industry, works for legislation to support and preserve family farms, communicates with other agriculture organizations, and strives to educate the public and promote agricultural awareness.


Three $1,000 WCFA Agent of Change Scholarships are offered to students who have attended at least one Women Changing the Face of Agriculture Conference. Eligible applicants include past WCFA attendees and students who participated in the 2021 WCFA Online Curriculum.  One scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior, one will be awarded to a current college student, and one scholarship will be awarded to a current graduate student. Dean Ritter Trust Scholarship

The Dean Ritter Trust is an organization whose specific focus is awarding scholarships to college-bound students who are deaf or hard of hearing.  To be eligible, students must have a significant hearing loss in one or both ears, a resident of the State of IL (citizenship not required) and exhibit financial need.  Apply by May 1, 2023


Mid Central Community Action

MCCA offers scholarships for low-income, undergraduate level, non-traditional students age 24 and older or younger students who live on their own with a dependent child. Scholarship applicants can be pursuing an Associates or Bachelors Degree or pursuing a Job Ready Training Vocational Certificate or Professional Credential . Eligible students may be awarded scholarships in the amount of $1000.00 to be used for tuition, books, supplies, or other related expenses such as childcare in order to attend school for the FALL SEMESTER 2023. Selection for the scholarship award will be based on financial need, as well as career goals and academic achievement or vocational progress. *Applicants must be a resident of McLean or Livingston County. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE FALL SEMESTER 2023 APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4:00 PM ON MAY 30, 2023

HS Innovations Scholarship 

We want to celebrate and reward them for their brilliance in one or more of the following areas: Arts, Media & Literature, Business Entrepreneurship. Social Entrepreneurship, Health & Nutrition,  Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)

1.      Submit a 1000-word essay and a 90-second video on what makes them exceptional. If selected by our team to advance...

2.      Participate in a 90-second virtual first round pitch. If selected by our team to advance...

3.      Participate in a 3 minute final round pitch

 

The first round of the competition takes place virtually from March 27th to March 31st at a time arranged by the teams with our judges. (step 2 above).  The Innovators finals is the team choice of virtual or in person at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, USA on April 22, 2023, starting at 8:00 am Central Time. (step 3 above).   I encourage you to have your students apply by February 19, 2023, at https://chsinnovators.org/.


The Illinois Heartland Decorative Artists

The IHDA has a $500 scholarship for a graduating senior who will attend an accredited art program after high school.  Apply by March 18th


Benjamin Elementary 

1. Eligible students must have attended Benjamin Elementary for two or more years or completed 5th grade at Benjamin.

2. Students should be graduating from a high school in Bloomington-Normal.

3. Continuing education should be planned to occur in the fall of 2023. Students may be planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year program at a trade school, junior college, college, or university.

4.  All applications should be submitted through this form and must be submitted no later than 11:55 pm on April 3, 2023.

5. The $500 award will be handed out at your school’s awards event. Students should plan to be contacted with some follow-up questions during their first year of school.

6.  Winners will be invited back to Benjamin in May for a check presentation.  


Kathryn G. Hansen 

The Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship is offering a $500 scholarship to one student who plans to pursue higher education in office professional, secretarial, or business related fields.   Apply by March 13th! 

Normal Rotary Scholarships

The Normal Rotary Club is again granting scholarships to high school seniors. Two $1000.00 scholarships are granted to two Normal Community West High School students. We would like to ask for your assistance in notifying the students of the opportunity to qualify for the $1,000 scholarships. The student must be planning to go on to college/university or trade schoolWe are looking for students who show initiative in their personal life.  In addition, the student should be able to demonstrate their involvement in service, citizenship, leadership, and activities.  Please note, the Normal Rotary Club members’ sons and daughters are not eligible.In addition, the club has established a $1000.00 Agricultural Scholarship to a 2023 graduating high school senior pursuing a degree in Agriculture.  The same qualifications still apply as for the traditional scholarship.   There is a separate application for this Scholarship. Students who qualify, can apply for both, but can only be awarded one.

Regions Bank Riding Forward Scholarship

To enter, students must submit either a 500-word (or less) written essay OR a 3-minute (or less) video essay that addresses how a Black American individual has been an impression on their life and discusses the contributions of that Black American individual.  The deadline to submit essays and enter is  March 31 and full details can be found here. 


Hank O Payne Trades Scholarship

Trade school scholarships are awarded to McLean, Woodford, Logan, and Livingston County Area residence are awarded this scholarship to be applied towards tuition assistance into a vocational school.  Our foundation has provided almost $15,000 in scholarships thus far. Learn more here


Prairieland Elementary Scholarship

Thank you for your interest in applying for a scholarship from the Prairieland Elementary School’s parent-teacher organization P.I.E.C.E. (People Interested in Expanding Children’s Education). Two scholarship awards valued at $1,000.00 each will be awarded to two graduating McLean County seniors who plan to attend college, vocational school, or technical apprenticeship.   To be eligible for the scholarship award, you must have been a Prairieland graduate, demonstrate high academic achievement, have a record of involvement in school and community activities, complete the application’s written essay, and submit the application with a letter of recommendation by the deadline of April 7, 2023.


Illinois Sherriff's Association 

In 1979, the ISA established a scholarship program for college-bound students. Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1000 are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic, extra-curricular and character qualifications.  Each Illinois county that participates in the ISA membership program awards at least one $500 scholarship each school year. The scholarship program is open to Illinois students attending an Illinois higher learning institution.  Apply by March 15th



IFBWC Educational Foundation Scholarship

The BPW Illinois Educational Foundation (BPWI-EF), with funding from the Illinois Federation of Business Women’s Clubs, Inc., (IFBWC), is committed to providing financial assistance to females in the state of Illinois to further education beyond high school. Both organizations view a lack of education as the primary barrier to self-sufficiency and improved quality of life. Established in 2018, this scholarship program proudly offers financial assistance for students entering or returning to higher education for the 2023-2024 school year.  Applications must be received electronically in PDF format to  applications@bpwi-ef.org by March 25, 2023, to be considered.   Click here to view the scholarship applications.


TOI Scholarship

Each year, since 1989, the Township Officials of Illinois Scholarship Fund awards funds to graduating high school seniors to continue their education at Illinois colleges/universities. A total of $359,500 has been awarded to 214 students. Please mail your completed application, postmarked no later than March 1, 2023.  To be eligible the students must meet the following criteria:

● Must be applying to attend a university or college in Illinois

● Must plan to attend a university or college in Illinois as a full time student

● Must have a history of extracurricular activities that demonstrate a willingness to accept leadership

responsibilities (student government, club officer, etc.) or a commitment to civic responsibility, social

consciousness and a willingness to serve the community (volunteering, community service projects, etc.)

● Must submit a 500- word essay on The Role of Township Government in Today’s Society and in the Future

that will include information gained from an interview with an elected township official

● Must submit two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, local officials, or business people


Towanda Lions Club

The Towanda Lions Club has two scholarships which are awarded each year to area high school students.  The deadline to apply for both scholarships is March 15, 2023.   


Steve Liebenow Memorial Scholarship- Awarded to a graduating senior or a currently enrolled college student.  One-time renewable $750 scholarship.

  

Towanda Lions Memorial Scholarship-  Applicants must be a graduating senior or a currently enrolled community college student intending to pursue training in a trades field of study.  Trade fields include, but are not limited to carpentry, cosmetology, dental assistant, electrician, heavy equipment operator, HVAC, machinist, mason, mechanics, plumbing etc.  This is also a one time non-renewable $750 scholarship.  




UFEA Scholarships

The Unit Five Education Association (UFEA) offers multiple $1000 scholarships for current Unit 5 students only. These are defined below.  All applications are due no later than March 17, 2023. Submissions after that date will not be considered for review.


Phyllis Rosenbaum NCWHS Scholarship:

This will be awarded to a high school senior, graduating from NCWHS and choosing a career in the field of education. Applicants will use the application form and points will be awarded based on a rubric applied by the scholarship committee.

The Impact Scholarship:

This will be awarded to a high school senior, from either high school, that plans to continue their education after high school, inclusive of college, military, or trade school.  Applicants will use the application form and points will be awarded based on a rubric applied by the scholarship committee

UFEA Scholarship:

This will be awarded to the child of a current UFEA member who is a high school senior that plans to continue their education after high school, inclusive of college, military, or trade school. Applicants will use the application form and points will be awarded based on a rubric applied by the scholarship committee. 



Eastern Star

Easter Star is a local non-for-profit organization that raises money to help those in our community. We have the opportunity to offer up to three $750 scholarships to well deserving high school seniors attending NCHS, NCWHS, and BHS that will attend a college, trade school or university in the fall.  From all the applications received, those meeting the outlined qualifications on the scholarship, the top three (regardless of school) will be selected by the Eastern Star scholarship committee. The scholarship money will be sent directly to the college/university.   Apply by April 1



"On Track" Scholarship

The Kiwanis Club of Bloomington is offering an “On-Track Scholarship of $1,500 to a Graduating Senior.  This non-renewable award is available to students who have experienced academic, physical or personal challenges during their high school years.  The nature of these challenges should have had the potential to lead the student “off track” in school.  However, due to perseverance, the student overcame the obstacles and remained “On Track” to successfully move toward a college education. Apply by April 15th


IAA Agriculture Scholarship

The IAA Foundation endeavors to enhance the future of agriculture by providing college scholarships to Illinois Farm Families, Illinois Farm Bureau members, spouses, or their children who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or an ag-related course of study. The IAA Foundation is pleased to administer scholarships on behalf of agricultural partners and families who wish to support future generations and help assure a well-qualified and professional agricultural workforce in Illinois while supporting farming communities. The IAA Foundation is pleased to offer 100 awards totaling $201,501. The application period runs from January 1 - February 15, 2023. Jim Rutherford Conservation Scholarship

The Jim Rutherford Scholarship has been established by the McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District to

assist outstanding agricultural students at any Illinois College. The student awarded the scholarship should

demonstrate superior agricultural academic achievement, commitment to soil and water conservation and

potential for innovation and/or leadership ability. The Jim Rutherford Scholarship is awarded in the fall semester

of the academic year. The fall 2023 scholarship award will be $1,000.  Applications are due March 17th


Hazel Brown Scholarship Program  

Under the Program, multiple $3,000 - $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to individuals who meet the scholarship criteria and are selected by Home Sweet Home Ministries selection committee.   Learn more and apply by March 1st by going here.  


The African American Hall of Fame Museum (AAHFM) 

The AAHFM supports African American graduating seniors of Peoria Public Schools, Quest Academy and Bloomington/Normal Schools who are

pursuing higher education at an accredited college or university. African American resident of Peoria Public School District 150, Quest Academy and Bloomington/Normal schools.  The requirements are: 2023 graduating high school senior, Minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 or 5.0 scale, Leadership qualities as evidenced by activities, interests and affiliations within school and the community, and Acceptance at an accredited college or university for the 2023-2024 academic year

Applications are due January 25th   


IL School Counselor 

Students who will be completing high school in 2023 are eligible for this non-renewable $1,000 scholarship.  The scholarship can be used to support the following post-secondary options:

Trade school

Apprenticeship/Vocational program

Scottish Rite Scholarships

Scottish Rite Valley of Bloomington Scholarships: The Valley of Bloomington administrates scholarships for around 50 recipients each year.  Requirements for each scholarship vary.  Please review our website and application for details. IPRB has extended the application deadline for its post-secondary education oil and gas scholarship to May 31, 2022. The General Federation of Women’s Clubs

This year, our organization has $12,000 in monetary scholarships for the academic fall semester of 2022. The scholarships available are in the studies of:

Corporation of Alpha Zeta Delta of Chi Psi Fraternity (University of IL)

In the memory of our beloved Brother Buell, three scholarships, each worth $1,000, are being offered to qualified incoming freshmen men to the University of Illinois. Illinois Sherriff's Association Scholarship

The Illinois Sheriff’s Association announces that it will be awarding over $58,000.00 in college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2022-2023 academic year. The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books and fees only. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois. Sheriff Jon Sandage, McLean County, will be awarding one scholarship in the amount of

$500.00 There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national

African American Hall of Fame Scholarship

The African American Hall of Fame Museum (AAHFM) supports African American graduating seniors of Peoria Public Schools, Quest Academy and Bloomington/Normal Schools who are pursuing higher education at an accredited college or university.  The scholarships are one-year, non-renewable monetary awards to be applied toward expenses incurred to attend an accredited college or university. The awards will be disbursed to the recipient’s school of choice at the beginning of the Fall semester of the freshman year. Proof of full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours) must be provided.  Apply by February 5th


Jim Rutherford Scholarship

The Jim Rutherford Scholarship has been established by the McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District to

assist outstanding agricultural students at any Illinois College. The student awarded the scholarship should

demonstrate superior agricultural academic achievement, commitment to soil and water conservation and

potential for innovation and/or leadership ability. The Jim Rutherford Scholarship is awarded in the fall semester

Hilda M. Padgett Scholarship

American Association of Blacks in Energy

The Gaston Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating Senior from Illinois who exemplifies family, leadership and community service, and who has been accepted to an accredited college or university.  Apply by June 1st! All applicants must:

A selection committee will review the applications in light of the criteria for the award. Applicants for this scholarship should be graduating seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in accounting, business, finance or related field. Sigma Nu Fraternity-Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship

Every year, we offer the POE Scholarship to a deserving high school senior male who will be attending the University of Illinois, and who exemplifies outstanding qualities in academics, athletics, altruism, and the arts. The Sigma Nu Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship consists of a one-time direct payment to one University of Illinois freshman male student of $3,000. Eligibility - Any Senior-level male high school student may apply who:(1) will be an entering freshman student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Fall 2021 and(2) has achieved a 3.0 of 4.0 or above grade point average (or such equivalent GPA) in his overall high school academic studies through his junior year in high school. Applying for the Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship in no way obligates the applicant to join the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

Normal Rotary Scholarship: The Normal Rotary Club is again granting scholarships to high school seniors. Two $1,000 scholarship is granted to two seniors at each high school.  We would like to ask for your assistance in notifying the students of the opportunity to qualify for the $1,000 scholarships. The student must be planning to go on to college/university or trade school. Here is a LINK to the application that is due April 2nd.  

Normal Rotary Ag Scholarship-In addition, the club has established a $1000 Agricultural Scholarship to a 2020 graduating high school senior pursuing a degree in Agriculture.  The same qualifications still apply as for the traditional scholarship.   There is a separate application for this Scholarship. Pepper Ridge PTO Scholarship- Applicant must be a graduating senior from Normal Community or Normal Community West High School who graduated from Pepper Ridge Elementary School and intends to immediately pursue higher education through college, a vocational school or apprenticeship. The Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Nu Psi Lambda chapter has released their 2021 Onward & Upward Memorial scholarship application. To be considered for the scholarship, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be a high school senior of African-American descent and reside in the Bloomington-Normal community.

(2) Must attend a local private, parochial, or public high school. 

(3) Must plan to attend a two-year or four-year accredited college or university.

Kanoski Scholarship- At Kanoski Bresney, we want to support students who do their part to fight the problem of distracted driving. Through the Kanoski Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship program, we are offering five scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 each, to students throughout the U.S. who are pursuing higher education at the undergraduate or graduate level.  Apply by July 1!

Kiwanis Club of Bloomington is offering an "on-track" scholarship of $1,500 to a graduating Senior.   This non-renewable award is available to student who has experience academic, physical, or personal challenges during their high school years.   The nature of these challenges should have had the potential to lead the student "of track" in school.  However, due to preservice, the student overcame the obstacles and remained "on track" to successfully move toward a college education.   Apply by April 15th.  


NAACP-Each Spring the NAACP Bloomington/Normal Branch awards scholarships in honor of Mr. Henry Gay, Sr., former leader in the branch and longtime civil rights activist in the Bloomington/Normal community. We are accepting applications for the scholarship from minority high school seniors in the Bloomington/Normal area who plan to attend a community college or a four-year college or university for the 2021-2022 academic terms.  The application is due May 1st.   


Carol McGraw Memorial Glenn School PTO Scholarship- This $500.00 scholarship is given to one graduating senior from high schools in Bloomington-Normal. This award is named in honor of Mrs. Carol McGraw, who was a beloved Kindergarten teacher for over 20 years at Glenn Elementary. Scholarship Application is due April 9th! 


Benjamin Elementary PTO Scholarship- The Benjamin Elementary Scholarship is being offered to a 2021 senior who attended Benjamin Elementary for at least two years or for the 5th grade year.  Other qualifying details are included in the form. The deadline to apply scholarship is April 8, 2021.  


Normal West PTO Scholarship- 2 Wildcats will win a $500 scholarship courtesy of the PTO.  To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must fit the following criteria and complete the application and essay, as outlined in the instructions below:

• Graduating Normal West Senior (Class of 2021), • Must have attended Normal West for at least one full academic year, • Planning to attend College or Vocational School after graduation

Delta Sigma Theta-The Scholarship Committee of the Bloomington Normal Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc is pleased to announce the opening of the submission period for our 2021 Scholarship.  Students must be an African-American high school senior residing in Bloomington or Normal and graduating during the 2020-2021 school year and have a grade point average of at least a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or 3.5 (on 5.0 scale), demonstrate academic achievement and leadership ability evidenced through participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service and submit a completed electronic application by midnight on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

Fairview Elementary PTO Scholarship-The scholarship award valued at $500.00 each will be awarded to a graduating McLean County senior who plans to attend college, vocational school, or a technical apprenticeship. Apply by April 16th! 

Dr. Dominique Lawson  Educational Scholarship: To provide financial support to students of color, the encourage students to pursue the field of psychology, and to bring awareness of the importance of addressing mental health.  One individual selected from the pool of qualified applicants will be awarded a one time scholarship for financial assistance during the 2021-22 academic year for $500.00. Learning Disabilities Association of IL- The Learning Disabilities Association of Illinois is making scholarship funds available to students with learning disabilities who currently are enrolled or are enrolling in undergraduate colleges or technical/vocational programsApply by March 3rd.  

The Bridging the Dream Scholarship for High School Seniors: In 2021, The Sallie Mae Fund will award (25) $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a two- or four-year degree professional certificate, or vocational training program. Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship

The Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship is offering a $500 scholarship to one student who plans to pursue higher education in office professional, secretarial, or business related fields.   Apply by March 8th! 


Temple Hoyne Buell Memorial Scholarship- In the memory of our beloved Brother Buell, three scholarships, each worth $1,000, are being offered to qualified incoming freshmen men to the University of Illinois. This scholarship is offered without regard to race, creed, color or religion. Acceptance into the membership of the fraternity is not required. The scholarship will be paid in a single amount of $1,000 in the Fall semester upon proof of full-time enrollment at the University of Illinois. Recipients will be those applicants who best exemplify the ideals of Chi Psi Fraternity intellectually, morally and socially. Apply by May 15th


Dean Ritter Trust- The Dean Ritter Trust is an organization whose specific focus is awarding scholarships to college-bound students who are deaf or hard of hearing.  Since 2013, we have awarded over $460,000 in tuition scholarships to deserving, hard working recipients.  Apply by March 31st!  


GFWC - General Illinois Federation of Women’s Clubs- This philanthropic organization, founded in 1894, is dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. This year, our organization has $12,000 in monetary scholarships for the academic fall semester of 2021.  The scholarships available are in the studies of:  Art, Drama, Music, Vocational Studies, and Health & Wellness.

Applicants (male or female) must be a graduating high school senior, current college student and or an adult returning to school. The applicant must be attending a vocational school, junior college, college, or university located IN Illinois.  Applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2021.


The African American Hall of Fame Museum (AAHFM) supports African American graduating seniors of Peoria Public Schools, Quest Academy and Bloomington/Normal Schools who are pursuing higher education at an accredited college or university. Apply by February 1st! 


The Unit Five Education Association (UFEA) offers multiple $1000 scholarships for Unit 5 students only. These are defined below.  All applications are due no later than March 19, 2021 at 3pm.

Phyllis Rosenbaum NCWHS Scholarship:

This will be awarded to a high school senior, graduating from NCWHS and choosing a career in the field of education. Applicants will use the application form and points will be awarded based on a rubric applied by the scholarship committee.


The Impact Scholarship:

This will be awarded to a high school senior, from either high school, that plans to continue their education after high school, inclusive of college, military, or trade school.  Applicants will use the application form and are asked to write short essays.


UFEA Scholarship:

This will be awarded to the child of a current UFEA member who is a high school senior or college student. 

2020-2021 Lopez & Navarro Scholarship

The Lopez and Navarro Scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to support undocumented and DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students in their dream of receiving a college degree. The number of scholarships given and the award amount will depend on available funding.  Apply by February 5th

Compeer Financial Ag Scholarship- The Compeer Financial Fund for Rural America, Compeer Financials corporate giving program, is offering 123 scholarships to students this year. High school seniors who have an agriculture or rural background, or plan to major in an agriculture-related field at a college, university or technical school are encouraged to apply between now and March 15. 

IAA Foundation- As the charitable arm of the Illinois Farm Bureau, our Mission is to fund education, research, and charitable activities that benefit Illinois farm families and agriculture. SEMA Automotive Scholarship- Every year SEMA helps students pay for their college tuition and SEMA Members pay off their student loans. Students from all academic and technical disciplines that lead to careers in the automotive industry are welcome to apply!  Apply by March 1 

Jim Rutherford Conservation Scholarship- The Jim Rutherford Scholarship has been established by the McLean County Soil and Water Conservation District to assist outstanding agricultural students at any Illinois College. The student awarded the scholarship should demonstrate superior agricultural academic achievement, commitment to soil and water conservation and potential for innovation and/or leadership ability. The Jim Rutherford Scholarship is awarded in the fall semester of the academic year. Apply by March 26th! 

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship-The JRF scholarship is awarded to outstanding high school graduates who plan to earn a baccalaureate degree from an accredited, four-year college or university. Apply by February 1st! 

Grand Lodge of A.F. & A. M. Illinois Scholarship -To qualify, applicants must have a father or grandfather who is an Illinois Master Mason. There is no residency restriction for the applicant. The applicant must have a “B” average.  Applicant will receive the scholarship for one year only but may re-apply for additional years.  Apply by March 1 

Illinois Masonic Healthcare Scholarship -To qualify, applicants must plan to pursue a career in the health care field. Apply by March 1

Leon M. Abbott Scottish Rite Scholarship -Named for Leon M. Abbott, Sovereign Grand Commander (1921-1932). The applicant must be a member of or directly related (bloodline or by legal means) to a Scottish Rite Mason in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. Also eligible are a members of youth organizations sponsored by the Masonic fraternity in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. The recipient must be either an undergraduate or graduate student attending an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic year. Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship Award  The Independent Order of Odd Fellow and Rebekahs of Illinois, being aware of the financial need for many deserving students wishing to continue their education in any post-secondary school or an accredited vocational/technical school, is please to announce the continuance of the 2021/2022 scholarship program.  Applicants need not be affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, but must be a resident of Illinois and a US citizen.   Apply by March 1, 2021. 

Illinois School Counselor Association- Students who will be completing high school in 2021 are eligible for this non-renewable $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship can  be used to support the following post-secondary options: 4 year college/university, 2 year college/university, Trade school, Apprenticeship/Vocational program.  All applications MUST be submitted by February 12th, 2021..7 ($1,000 Scholarships) will be awarded, 1 Scholarship per each ISCA region,  

National FFA Scholarship   Scholarships support FFA high school seniors and collegiate members as well as non-FFA students. Just one application is required for multiple scholarship opportunities totaling close to $2 million. Apply by Jan. 14th

The Verna Ross Orndorff Scholarship

The Verna Ross Orndorff Scholarship is offering an award of $1,000 for the best 1,500-word essay written by an Illinois high school student on the subject of Abraham Lincoln or the Civil War era in Illinois. Essays must be submitted by January 15, 2021.


American Farmers Grow Ag Leaders

America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship, awards scholarships to students pursing ag-related fields of study. The deadline to apply is January 14, 2021.


The Illinois Conservation Foundation Scholarship

The Illinois Conservation Foundation is now accepting applications for the Conservation Achievement Scholarships. Up to four one-time scholarships of $2,000 are given to outstanding high school seniors in Illinois who have demonstrated effective, voluntary and long-term dedication to the preservation, protection, enhancement and/or promotion of Illinois' natural resources. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2021.

Bradley University FACS Scholarship

The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) at Bradley University is pleased to announce that two FCS freshmen will be awarded Arnold/Wheeler scholarships in the Fall of 2020. Each awardee will become either a “C. C. Wheeler Scholar” or a "Mildred Arnold Scholar," with an accompanying annual scholarship of $4,000. Each scholarship award may be renewed annually for up to four years, provided the student maintains a minimum GPA of 3.00 and completes the scholarship requirements each semester.  Learn more here.  

Rotary Scholarships

Every year, our Rotary district (6490) sponsors an essay contest.  The first prize is $500, and the second prize is $250.  We are inviting advanced level students from your high school to participate.  Please review the enclosed registration form (1 page); and rules/guidelines (2 pages), for the students to submit essays.  All materials are due January 31st!   

McLean County IWU Scholarship

The Illinois Wesleyan Associates, a group of local community, business leaders and IWU alumni have established the McLean County Scholarship fund. High school students in the graduating class of 2021 who are residents of McLean County* and an accepted student at Illinois Wesleyan University will be offered a total scholarship package (including the McLean County Scholarship and other IWU scholarships) of at least $30,000 per year. Depending on the academic status of the student, it is likely they could be eligible for even more scholarship monies. The Chemical Industry Council of Illinois, through the Illinois Chemical Education Foundation (ICEF) presents a number of $2,000 scholarships each year to top high school senior science students.  Apply by February 19th!  

 Youth Senate Scholarship

The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) Washington Week will be held online the week of March 15, 2021.  The exact timeframe of the program is to be decided. Two students from each state will be selected to attend the online program and each will receive a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship. Students may qualify to apply through leadership positions they currently hold per the USSYP official criteria for the current 2020-2021 academic year. If students are unable to hold leadership positions this year due to the pandemic, they can submit the position they held during the 2019-2020 academic year. All student leadership qualifying positions are subject to the judgement of the state selection administrator and will be verified and confirmed.  Apply by November 13th! 

First Star

First Star ISU Academy is a free college preparation program for high school youth in foster care that ensures they have the life skills and academic supports needed to successfully transition to higher education and adulthood. The program is open to 9th, 10th, and 11th graders with an open foster case that live within 75 miles of Illinois State University.  

First Star ISU includes monthly Saturday academies featuring life skills and academic lessons and culminates in a 3-week immersion experience on the campus of Illinois State University in June.  

Apply by December 18, 2020. Space is limited. 

Elks Scholarship

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2021 competition.

CBAI

CBAI Foundation for Community Banking Scholarship

The scholarship program is intended to foster a better understanding of the vital role that community banks play in the economy of the areas in which they do business, provide our members with an avenue by which they can give something to the young scholars in their communities, and provide welcome financial aid to deserving students in our members’ communities. Recipients are determined by an essay-writing contest and an impartial panel of judges. Eligible students are Illinois high school seniors graduating in the spring and entering an institution of higher education in the fall of 2021. They must be US citizens and Illinois residents. The immediate family member of community bankers and part-time employees are not eligible to enter. The prize awarded for the overall winner is $1,000 per year for up to 4 years, with up to 11 additional awards of $1,000 and up to 12 second place awards of $500 each, depending on the quality of entries. A check for $500 will also be presented to the winning student’s school.

Coca Cola Scholarship

Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Students need a 3.0 GPA and to fill out an online application that requires no essays, no recommendations, and no transcripts by October 31, 2020, at 5 p.m. Eastern.

Illinois Tech

We have decided to offer admitted students a minimum merit scholarship of $25,000 a year so long as they apply on or before November 15, 2020. The scholarship is only for admitted students who begin their studies full-time at Illinois Tech in fall 2021. The $25,000 scholarship is renewable annually for four years (five for architecture) as long as they maintain continuous full-time enrollment. The Heisman High School Scholarship program honors the nation’s most accomplished, community-minded high school senior athletes. The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program is a teacher preparation and tuition assistance program for high school seniors and freshman and sophomore Illinois college students who have the determination and drive to be highly effective teachers in Illinois schools-of-need.
