How does the library work?
Library Policies:
Students can check out 2 books at a time.
The books are checked out for two weeks.
If not done reading please come in to renew. This can be done so long there isn't a waiting list.
School charges fines for books that are lost or damaged.
We have a wide range of books for grade levels 5th - 8th grade. Not all books can be checked out by all students. Some books are lower level lexile books, some are movie books and some are geared more for 7th and 8th graders (those books are labeled with YA13 or PG13) and will not be checked out by the younger grade levels.
How to check out library books?
Book check out this year is a little different from years past. Due to the pandemic, we can not allow students to enter the library to search for a book because as soon as the students touch books, they will have to be pulled off the shelves and set a side for at least 48 hours. This could easily turn into empty shelves. So to get a book from the library they have to reserve a book through the different book request links throughout this website.
Reserving books must be done by filling out the book request link on the home page or click here.
Mrs. Steber will have the books for you ready as soon as possible. Don't expect a book request during study hall on Fridays to get to you before the end of school that day. So planning ahead is a must!
Picking up books!
We will get the books to your reading teacher as soon as possible.
Sometimes a book isn't in or there is a waiting list so keep that in mind.
Returning books!
Books can be returned anytime and placed in the box at the entrance of the library.
Books will be quarantined for a minimum of 48 hours before they are available for checkout.
