EPG Football Summer Update (Parent Email 7/2/26)
I hope your family has had a good summer so far! July means it's officially football season as we will start summer practices next week.
Here's a few reminders:
Please remember to get physicals scheduled for the upcoming year. Contact Mrs. Craig (kisha.craig@unit11.org) in the high school office if you have any questions in regards to physicals or paperwork.
July 6th practice is helmets only. If you have a girdle, it's a good idea to start wearing it. Everyone needs a girdle for the season. I have some if anyone needs one. Just let me know.
Football cleats!!
We finished up the month of June with some great results in the weight room during our yearly lift-a-thon! Anyone who did not complete their lift-a-thon will make it up in July.
Please remind your son to check the football Google classroom page for any important updates and reminders.
If you ever need to contact me, please feel free to send me an email: tanner.benedict@unit11.org

INJURED?
Don't go to the doctor until you've had a chance to talk to any of the football coaches. There is a school trainer available that comes to the high school once a week. The trainer is able to help make appointments and get athletes in to a clinic in a timely manner if needed. This issue with going to a primary or prompt care provider first is that they will often write a note taking you completely out of activity. Seeing a trainer and talking to a coach first about your injury helps make sure we do everything possible to treat the injury without fully removing the athlete from competition.
