Preparatory training for the summer school
In preparation for the start of the Summer School, there are two days of preparatory activities designed to provide participants with a common base of knowledge and useful tools for the training.
Day 1 - June 26, 2025 (optional)
Duration: 5 hours.
Theme: LCA Methodology - The Carbon Footprint of Organization and Product.
This introductory day will be devoted to the fundamental concepts of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), with a specific focus on the carbon footprint at both the product and organization levels. Methodological principles, key reference standards and practical applications in the context of environmental sustainability will be addressed. Participation is recommended for those who wish to strengthen their background knowledge on these topics before the Summer School begins.
Day 2 - June 27, 2025 (mandatory)
Duration: 4 hours
Theme: Installation of open source openLCA software and first operational elements.
During this mandatory day, participants will install the openLCA software and begin to familiarize themselves with its basic functionality. The goal is to ensure that everyone has access to the main tool used during the Summer School and is able to take their first steps independently within the operating environment.
