Ignacio Aedo holds a degree and a PhD in Computer Science from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He's currently full professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Escuela Politécnica Superior). His research interests include hypermedia, interactive systems in education, web systems, electronic books, development methodologies and information systems for emergency situations. In 1990, he started his research activity in the field of interactive systems on which he is still involved. He has been visitng researcher at CSCL of IST Pennsylvania State University (2007-2008) and MAGIC of University of British Columbia (2011). Chair of a groupVision Grant for Technologies for the Collaboration; Vice-Chair of IEEE Learning Technologies Technical Committee; Program or General Co-Chair IEEE ICALT 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012; Subdirector of Culture and Technology Institute and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Faculty and Departments (UC3M).
Ilaria Amaro is a PhD Computer Science from the University of Salerno. She earned her Master's degree with honors in Cognitive Psychology in 2022 from the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli." She is a member of the CAIS Lab (Context Aware Intelligent Systems) at the Department of Computer Science. Her research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), spanning mental health informatics, the design of technologies to support well-being, and multisensory interface design for Extended Reality environments. Her work at the intersection of cognitive science and immersive technologies investigates how virtual reality and multisensory feedback can be leveraged to enhance user experience and support human functioning in both clinical and non-clinical contexts. She is a member of ACM SIGCHI and IEEE and actively contributes to initiatives bridging cognitive science, HCI, and mental health.
Paola Barra is a tenure-track Assistant Professor (RTD-B) in Computer Science at the University of Naples Parthenope, Department of Science and Technology. Her research spans computer vision, biometrics, physiological signal processing, and the design of immersive and multisensory experiences in Extended Reality (XR/VR). She has authored numerous publications in international journals and conferences on biometric identification, image and video analysis, and human-centred design of XR systems, and she regularly supervises thesis students and postdoctoral researchers working at the intersection of XR, computer vision, and AI. She also contributes to national research initiatives and serves as a reviewer for leading journals in the field. Beyond her academic role, she is co-founder of Commigo S.r.l., a university spin-off of the University of Salerno, devoted to the transfer of XR and AI research toward industrial and societal applications. She is member of GIRPR/IAPR, ACM SIGCHI, and IEEE, and I actively contribute to the research community as Program Chair, Program Committee member, and Guest Editor for high-impact international journals including IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, and Multimedia Tools and Applications.
Attilio Della Greca is a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Salerno (XXXVIII cycle, IoT curriculum). He earned his Master's degree with honors in Computer Science in 2022 from the same institution. He is a Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor of Software Technologies for the Web at the Department of Computer Science, where he is part of the CAIS Lab research group. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), spanning immersive technologies (Virtual and Augmented Reality), Generative Artificial Intelligence. His work at the intersection of HCI and generative AI investigates how immersive environments and AI-driven content creation can be leveraged to support trust, empathy, and therapeutic engagement in both clinical and non-clinical contexts. He serves as a peer reviewer for Virtual Reality, Multimedia Tools and Applications, Expert Systems with Applications, and IEEE Access, and actively contributes to academic and outreach initiatives as President of ADI Salerno and licensee of TEDxUniSalerno.
